I like the Arm Catalepsy induction and Richard Bandler seemed to use it a lot during last week’s Practitioner course. Is there a rule as to which arm to use? Arms are controlled by the brain contra-laterally and I’m wondering if there’s any benefit in either targeting one side or the other. If the subconscious is supposed ‘to allow the arm to come down no faster than it makes the changes…..’ then that suggests you pair the arm with subconscious. If, however, you want to distract the conscious mind by giving it something to do like watch the arm, then the opposite is true. Is there a NLP position on this, or is this an empirical question?
