| Despite using Kinesthesia as my primary modality, I'm not really a touchy feely person (don't like people touching me)
All through my training we told to be caution about touching client, and my own fear/paranoia about touching and being touched. So it's something I have avoided doing with any patient.
However, I've been watching more and videos showing very deep trance states when people are touched. Richard Bandler, erickson, Mckenna, all touch their patients without incident or problem - both in and out of trance and I've just been watching a superb little video about total non-verbal inductions (by Marx Howell - old black and white video!) - where the subject looks to be in quite a deep trance.
it's got me wondering if I could be a better therapist if I used touch more appropriately?
So question: Do you touch your patients?
Is it ever a problem (for you or them?)
if you've been a patient, how do you feel about being touched?
Is it good or bad to touch(with consent of course!)?
oh, and what I mean by ''touching'' is. Touching to create anchors, lift hands, etc. |
