I apologise in advance that this is a bit long winded but I wonder if anyone out there can offer me some suggestions.

I saw a client about a week ago who had a fear of being on her own at home at night. This stems from an icident 4 years ago where her house was burgled at 2am when her and her husband were in bed! The whole experience was very traumatic and involved a knife being held to her and her husband being threatened too. She is now divorced and lives with her young son.

Her brother lives with them but is going away on sat which was what prompted her to seek my help. I did some belief change work with her and a swish pattern and tried to anchor a positive state. I also did a trance with her with lots of metaphors about change and shedding old worries etc... The session was very tough and she found it very hard to get in touch with a positive memory. She also talks about her experience and her current anxiety ( not sleeping, panicking at every sound...) like it is happening to someone else.

She reported feeling good for a while but the panic has returned so I saw her again today and tried a bit of TFT with her. But again she found it difficult to associate with the problems whilst doing it. Also did a movie rewind pattern and a trance. She does report a lowering on a 1 - 10 scale but can't get below a 6. SHe describes a knot in her stomach that she can't shift.

Don't really know what to do next, feel like I haven't quite got in there and am not sure how to get beyond these barriers she has built up.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Sam
