weakened anchor? (or ways to feel an emotion)

will recalling of memories to evoke a certain emotion i want to feel somewhere else in my life eventually weaken if i keep using it like an anchor does if overused after a while. i always answer a bad emotion by focusing on a positive good emotion (eg by thinking of a memory) will it become corrupted by the bad emotion?
eg if i try and become happy whenever i feel embarrassed will they eventually merge into 1 emotion!?
Or will just that certain way of feeling the emotion become weakened or corrupted and i'll have to find a new way to 'bring up' the emotion eg new happy memory?

Also is their any other way i can transfer an emotion i have in a memory to somewhere i want that emtion in my life other than swish or matching the visual submodalities? as i dont think my preffered method is visual, my 'pictures' are really vague and i dont really notice any submodalities!
