I've been involved, at least peripherally, with medical imaging technologies and applications in neurological research for many years now. The thing that has eluded scanners for the longest time has been speed. Human thought has simply been too fast to allow imaging of individual thoughts with even the fastest scanners.
That is, just perhaps, until now...

If this proves to be both real and applicable for all sorts of thought forms, I think that we can expect to see a veritable explosion of new and revolutionary findings about behavioral neurology in the next few years.
From I what can see of progress in the technology, even if this particular technique does not prove to be neurology's Holy Grail, I expect that it will be just around the corner...
