Hello everyone,

NLP Connections currently comes a paltry 362nd when I search for 'NLP' on Google. I want us to be in the top 100 by this Christmas and in the top 10 by next Christmas.

• If you have a website, please add a link to www.nlpconnections.com. It doesn't matter if you don't get many visitors to your site -- adding a link will still help. Google counts how many sites link to us and that number contributes to our ranking. Please add links from all your sites. Ideally link direct to www.nlpconnections.com and call the link 'NLP Connections', 'NLP Forum', 'NLP Resources' or something similar.

• If you have other profiles, please add a link from those profiles too. Myspace, Facebook, Yahoo Groups, whatever you use.

• Encourage your trainers to link up too. Please tell your trainers that you use the site and find it useful. Maybe you met a practice partner here or something like that. Encourage them to link up so their other students can benefit too.

There's lots I can and will do as well. These are just some simple things that you can do to help.

I'll update this thread as we rise up the ranking. I am absolutely determined to get into the top 10 by this time next year.

Of course, you can also promote your website here too. You can add a link from your profile and you can post links below too. Maybe other people will like your site and you can swap links with them too.

This is a great way for everybody to get more exposure for their sites.

Hi Chris,
One small point, google looks at what is in the link. If the blue bit says "NLP", rather than the whole url, then you will get a better placing.
You should also edit the title tag of pages to include the word NLP a couple more times where appropriate.
Adding a site map at the bottom of the page will help too as it will allow the spiders to catch the dynamic pages more easily.
Making these changes will have a big effect.

Google changes its algorithm regularly. Some of the older tips still work very well and others I think you need to be careful with because they can lead to 'penalty points' now. Overloading the title with keywords is something to avoid, in my opinion.

We have a sitemap that's automatically updated each night. That has helped our ranking a lot recently, especially with Yahoo and MSN (where NLP Connections is already in the top 100 for 'NLP').
