Jonathan Altfeld's Metaphor Machine

Several years ago I became aware of Jonathan and realized that we were practically neighbors due to both living in the Tampa Bay area. At the time, I'd not taken any serious NLP training and even though he didn't have a Prac. 1 training scheduled, we co-created an event and had a very small Prac. Level 1 training over a series of weekends.
Due to the small group size, we got a lot of individual attention and had a fantastic time. Of course for those of you know Jonathan, he's a fantastic communicator and I've always been amazed at his abilities. Naturally, when he announced earlier this year the creation of "The Metaphor Machine," I was immediately interested and recently acquired it and listened for the first time.
I've always known, as most all of you here have, that the most influential and powerful communicators relay messages on deep levels and that the power of metaphor is of paramount importance. Jonathan's treatment of the subject on his two CD set is really quite impressive. The distinctions he makes between 'isomorphic' and 'homomorphic' metaphors is really critical to development of skills in this area. Of course the 'homomorphic' metaphor structure is the one for the 'serious student' of the subject and Jonathan does a tremendous job of 'unpacking,' as he likes to say, the structure of an effective metaphor and laying out the formula for easy re-creation.
At least for me, I'll need to listen to this dual CD set a few times and practice a lot to get really good; Of course, I'm told I also had a sign outside my house as a child that read "Slow Child At Play."
In sum, this set is one that provides extreme traction and momentum in developing this critical skill set.
