Recently attended the 'Introduction to NLP' course by Ultimate Mind Ltd. with Lenka Majstrikova in London, July 12th (
Ultimate Mind Intoduction into NLP - Free One Day Seminar).
Having never attended any NLP event prior, was not sure what to expect. The course in one word could be summed up as EXCELLENT!
The Trainer - Lenka Majstrikova was highly professional, with a very friendly, warm engaging personality that made people feel at ease straight away. The material was presented really well, using high quality slide presentation through laptop pc, with explanations and examples from Lenka, partner exercises and group participation exercises were also done, as well as individual exercises using the workbook.
The course covered such subjects as background/history of NLP, definitions, cause and effect, pressupositions, concious/unconcious mind, rapport, modalities, representational systems, etc. Also covered was goal setting, how to achieve goals in life, and time was given to put down your own personal goals and how to work on achieving them.
Other people on the course, I spoke with said they really enjoyed the event also and had learnt a lot from it. Would highly recommend this course to everyone, especially those wanting to find out more about NLP or those completely new to the subject; books on NLP can often seem very 'dry' to beginners and some even confusing or information overload. On the course, you learn the basics and theory but in a manner where you will enjoy it far more than an Intro. book, as well as being able to practice exercises with others, and see live examples.
Lenka, was very open to questions and happy to discuss anything on NLP and very approachable, it was also inspiring to hear her background and how she managed to come to where she is now and achieve all she has done.
There was no 'hard sell' for other courses whatsoever which was refreshing as had heard from some attending courses by others that there is a real push to sell other products or courses. At the end there is very brief mention of future courses in the context of learning more about or progressing in NLP, but if you only ever attend the Intro. course you will take away valuable tools you can use, and as it only costs £20 it is affordable to anyone (the cost is refundable on any future course from them, and more to make sure most people turn up than anything).
The course gave you tools and exercises you can use to practice at home and implement in your life, and the workbook provided contains a lot of information to review and refresh your memory with, and practical exrcises to do. The course was just the right length for an Introduction to NLP, not too short and not too long. I travelled all the way from Scotland to attend it and felt it was well worth it, and really enjoyed it a lot! Anyone looking for an Introduction to NLP, this is the perfect start and as afore mentioned so much better and rewarding than just reading a book on it.
