Review of Linguistic Wizardry - Jonathan Altfeld Review of Linguistic Wizardry - Jonathan Altfeld What a fantastic 3-day event this is!
Having been around the ''fringes'' of NLP for some time, and spent ages trying to decide who to do my Practitioner with (I know a lot of NLP trainers, but eventually chose Steve Linder, Tony Robbins' Director), after doing Prac I was looking to further my skills without necessarily going the ''Master Prac'' route for now.
I first met Jonathan Altfeld at an evening he ran in Manchester and heard about the Linguistic Wizadry course - and signed up immediately.
Not only did the course look fantastic, but it was being held near Amsterdam - how could I refuse !!! ;-)
I have to say in 3 days, I learnt more practical NLP (and how and where to apply it!) than with the vast majority of other trainings I've been to.
I knew there were NLP trainers in the room, other Practitioners and people who'd not done Prac yet - and I was worried that the material would either be too complex for me to understand, or too simple (so that the ''newbies'' could understand it.)
After the first hour, all those concerns melted away. Not only did Jonathan make the material simple, easy-to-understand and very practical, but the way he taught ensured everyone in the room (regardless of skill level) was getting massive value.
So what difference has this made to me personally? - Well, I'm part a a couple of practice groups and I have been constantly getting comments from people complimenting my NLP skills. When I tell them I'm only a practitioner, they're amazed - often thinking I'm a Master Prac or Trainer due to the way I actively use the material and the new distinctions that I have.
I find I've achieved great command of metaphors, sensory language, storytelling, and much more - to list them here simply would not do the course justice!
In my humble opinion this is by far the best value NLP course I've ever done, and having studied with some of the best NLP trainers in the world - I rate Jonathan in the top 1%.
So what's the bad news? Well unfortunately, there's no more Linguistic Wizadry courses scheduled in Europe this year :-(
However, there is a ''Holographic Communication'' course - a 5-day speaking bootcamp in Oxford in mid-may (which I've already signed up for!) which takes a lot of the principles of Linguistic Wizardy and applies them to the speaking arena.
So if any of you guys would like to improve your speaking skills, stage skills or really integrate the NLP training you've already done, you might want to take a look at it.
I don't have the links or anything, but the Holographic Communication course should be listed at Mastery InSight Institute - NLP Neuro-Linguistic Programming Seminars and Resources - Top Site Page
If you're coming along to Oxford in May - look forward to meeting you there!

Hi Mike
Thanks for your message.
From my own experience, I've personally found Jonathan's courses to be some of the most cost-effective I've ever done.
I guess it always depends what you're after - and if you put the skills to work, what they would do for you - both personally, and business-wise.
If I had to put a figure on it, from attending Jonathan's Linguistic Wizadry course I reckon it's brought me in the region of an extra £3000 in business, (from using the skills I learnt) not to mention the increased confidence, ability and progress I've made - all for an investment of a few hundred pounds.
Obviously, in terms of return-on-investment, this was a ''no-brainer'' (as was signing up for ''Holographic'').
Just a tip for the future - I know Jonathan does reward early bookers on his courses (I booked as soon as the course was announced) and secured my place at a very generous discount (as did a few other people I know).
If you haven't done so already, may I suggest going to www.altfeld.com and signing Jonathan's ''guestbook''?
This would give you advance notice of Jonathan's events and therefore allow you to take advantage of the early booking prices.
Hope this helps - if you'd like to chat in any more details, just let me know.
Kind Regards

Whew. Many thanks is all I can say in response, Andy. I look forward to giving you a great 5-day course in Oxford, and exceeding your already high expectations. I have no doubt your sharp mind will help to keep me on my toes, friend.
To Mike I'd say thanks for your comments -- I think if I priced my early-signup rates any lower I'd probably be very underpriced for the market. And I do see my offerings as high value -- enough to offer money-back-guarantees on most of my courses.
Further, if it helps, at least at Holographic Communication there is a ''budget'' or ''audit'' option to attend at a much lower rate than with the ''premium'' seats, but gives those students less personal feedback. Might be great for someone with limited cashflow.
Last comment -- as always with any course, your mileage may vary on the value you receive.
Andy Preston in particular is always poised to make incredible use of the skills he learns at workshops, which may be partly why he can take something I've taught him (in exchange for X amount of tuition), and turn that into 2X, 3X, or 10X worth of profit rapidly.
He gets around a lot. He's an already successful entrepreneur always looking for a sharper edge. And perhaps most interestingly for people considering attending MY course... I consider Andy to be the single most powerful networker I have ever met. (And I meet a lot of people in this business!)
If anyone is planning on coming to my event in Oxford, it would be a shame not to invite Andy out for a meal and tap his brain for some really useful business building stories & strategies.
Sorry Andy, I may just have filled up your free time in Oxford... -
Aaaaahhh!!
So this is the guy
Jonathan and I were talking about in Melbourne ...
Andy, you may be interested to know that you are also developing quite an international reputation - as a very sharp operator and a person of extraordinary influence. If we were closer geographically I would already have invited you out for lunch or coffee by now.
Should you ever find yourself in Melbourne I'd love to catch up!
... and may I just add another hearty endorsement of Holographic Communication.
This course is fantastic on so many levels. Brilliant learning for anyone new to presenting, and invaluable fine tuning for the pro's. For me, the most valuable part of the process was getting lots of great real-time, highly targeted feedback from another NLP trainer at the top of his game.
As a working trainer, I would (and probably will) take this course again and again - it's like working one on one with a personal trainer. Fantastic stuff if you want to keep your skills honed to a razor's edge!
