I recently discovered this, surprisingly by accident. I started researching, among others, technology in health-care to increase my consulting knowledge for a hospital-position I was pursuing; NLP being one of my major passions, accidentally discovering this book looks like it will, for me, be a gold mine!
It won't be fully published until May 25, 2007. For that duration, though, here's a few links and info. Hope this Wiley book will help more health-care professionals be able to recognize the importance of nlp-standards in physician-services.

From the Back Cover
Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) was developed by two pioneers of excellence in the 1970s. It originated in the field of mental health therapy and was quickly transferred into business contexts to improve individual and team performance with great effect. NLP is well known for its ability to transform communication and team work, as well as working with individuals to release personal blocks, which inhibit excellence in practice.
This book will assist practitioners to get to know themselves in a new and deeper way, which will then impact on their professional practice. When applied in practice, this book has the potential to change the levels of service provided by the practitioners who interact with this book. It is written to enable the reader to value, support and care for themselves in a new way, so that they can become more effective expert practitioners and leaders in their field. Some of the best and simplest NLP tools are combined with key tools from other coaching backgrounds (CoachU and HeartMath®) and then applied in a very practical way to the health-care environment. Real stories from health-care practitioners are used to show how the tools have been used effectively to develop individuals in practice.
NLP and Coaching for Health Care Professionals: Developing Expert Practice offers ways of improving the following problems practitioners might encounter during their professional career:
- Inter-personal conflict
- Lack of personal goals or sense of direction
- Inability to recognize or deal with stress effectively
- Inability to manage negative responses to difficult situations
- Lack of confidence in self
