Newbie @S.T.E.A.L.T.H. seminar

As i said in my thread in the introductions, Marcs' course this weekend was my first 'dip' into the world of NLP other than reading a few books. What can i say, Marc was very skillful in keeping us all entertained and wrapt while at the same time delivering relevant and personal examples of how we cold all USE the skills he was teaching. No easy feat bearing in mind that there were people who had practical experience (therapists), theoretical knowledge (seen DVDs or done prac courses) and complete newbies like myself.

If anything i have come away with a FIRE and DETERMINATION to USE the skills that he imparted. Instead of thinking what if i did this or what if i did that i have a solid foundation on which to build because i now know i SHOULD do this or i NEED to do this in in a certain way...no more stabbing in the dark.

I was going to train up and look for job in 6 months time, but after this weekend i want to train right now....why? So i can line up job interviews and practice these skills before i go for a job that i really want or need, if it goes pear shaped because my skills are lacking....so what..... have i lost a job i really want?...NO....Have i lost a job i really need?....NO.

What will i gain from laying myself open to possible laughter and ridicule at the hands of my interviewers (tormentors?) for no tangiable reason....experience, confidence, knowledge and the skills that may get me my dream job....no brainer on my part.

If you know you want to use the advantages and leverage that NLP and influence can give you and have the bottle to just try it, then prepare to take a leap of faith that will not leave you dissappointed.
Instead of imagining I COULDA, SHOULDA, WOULDA, i now have the drive and vision to be DOING instead of DREAMING.(Marc, you can put that in your testimonials and smoke it!!)
I have just returned a phone call to a colleague who rang me while i was on the seminar and has had problems with his car. I put him on speakerphone and asked him WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF he fixed up his car and sold it rather than just getting rid of it as it is with no tax or MOT. He said he might as well keep it if hes going to pay all that money. BUT...his wife can only drive an automatic. I asked him WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF he fixed it up, sold it and bought two smaller cars, a manual for him and and auto for the wife.."well i suppose i'd get a lot more money for it" AND.... "well we'd both have what we want"...ANYTHING ELSE? "we wouldn't argue about who's going to have the car on any given day"

I asked him if that small outlay of cash for the tax, MOT and repairs would be worth the 'feel good factor' that both he and his wife would enjoy from driving the type of car they prefer and also gaining independence from each other....guess what? He couldn't believe that he hadn't thought of it earlier as it was so obvious to him now, and im not even a car salesman!

My wife was listening to this on speakerphone and shaking her head as she knew exactly what i was doing and couldn't believe someone was falling for this patter without realising how they were being led. What she didn't realise is that its already been happening to her for the last day!! Perfect example of the "yeah but it'd never work on me syndrome".....when i want her to think i'm "doing my stuff on her" (what stuff, i've only read books and now been on one course....expectation methinks mulady) i make it blatantly obvious and lay it on thick, when the real magic is happening with subtle changes, we're just having a conversation. I really don't think i could have pulled this off without the training i recieved this weekend. To be perfectly honest at the end of the first day i was sitting there thinking " yeah im nodding along with the rest of the group but i knew a lot of this anyway, what the hell have forked this money out for?" It wasn't until the end of the second day when Marc took all of the threads he'd been laying and tied them into a 'knot' that i felt ahhh i have got something from this, i've just been given a nicely wrapped present.....what better way to appreciate than first hand experience.

THANK YOU MARC, i told you on the second day of how it was already working for me with respect to getting my wife out of the rut with respect to work, i think i still have a fair bit of work to do but at least she is now open to the idea of change.

BY THE WAY THE STUPID GRIN I HAD FOR MOST OF THE SECOND MORNING AND EVERY TIME YOU MENTIONED ANCHORS IS DUE TO THE RIDICULOUS IMAGE THAT KEPT POPPING INTO MY HEAD THANKS TO THE 'MONORAIL' EPISODE OF THE SIMPSONS...MY PIC SHOULD EXPLAIN ALL.... ELSE CLICK HERE Marge vs. the Monorail.

PS DID YOU KNOW THAT THE ROAD NEXT TO THE VENUE IS CALLED....ANCHOR ROAD?!?!?!?....HHHHMMMMMM

Anyway...... if any of you get a chance to go on one of Marcs' courses....take it.....even if don't learn anything new it will definately be a kick up the arse that will soon wake you up to where you've been going wrong.
