| 'Mine your own Business' NLP practioner course. I recently completed the 'Mine your own business' NLP practitioner course with 'Enhance" in Edinburgh. Licensed by SNLP. The license was sent out in advance leaving adequate time time to read and question any thing if needed.
I have signed several SNLP licenses and personally have no problem with that at all.
I appreciate that others may have there own take on that point. Enhance was quite transparent regarding the paper work/licenses.
I live in London so my first concern was the additional expenses that doing the course might entail.
A quick bit of research on the internet showed that I had a few choices of air travel which were competitive price wise and flexible enough to consider options.
I finally chose BA from Heathrow to Edinburgh which worked out at just under £70 per go.
I flew once by Easy jet from Stanstead and beat that price by £15.
There are some good hotels in Edinburgh and chose to stay at the new Hotel situated on the university campus where Enhance hold the training's. Again the room rates were competitive from £45-70 depending on what you wanted. Free internet wireless etc.
I have to say that by the time you add up the extras it can be more expensive for people to come to London to do a training. Not a lot in it, but Edinburgh is cheaper than London in every way- taxis, food etc. It also has a bit more rain, but it was winter!
Having already completed 2* prac and master prac, plus a trainers training, I was probably more curious than anything else to find out just how the course would help me in a business context as opposed to what I already knew from previous experience.
My previous training's had more of a slant in practice to a therapeutic angle/self development with regard to NLP which suited me fine as that was what I had wanted.
Being well aware of what NLP is not, and interested to find out and experience more of what other peoples maps believe it to be in a training context fueled my interest.
Michael Christon who delivered the training throughout chose to deliver the training over four months of two days. These were mid week (thursday and Friday) with one extra day a Saturday on module two.
I found that the content was delivered with individuality and was well thought out.
Michael used visual media in each module to emphasize certain points and to assist delegates to stretch their maps to new areas. There was a healthy ratio of exercises and information and the learning was sequential and well thought out.
This was not a presented style of delivery i.e powerpoint and reading off the screen, I for one would have been first out asking for money back.
There was humor, group discussion good interaction with the small group (8) of like minded individuals of various business backgrounds (all of whom wanted to be there and not being sent by a company) which contributed very well to the learning experience.
There is a superb course manual for reference afterwards, which is comprised of the background training, exercises and practice homework to be carried out between sessions. Clearly a lot of thought and effort went into the training program/manual.
All said and done I came away with some new insights into what I believed I already knew, confirmation of what I didn't know and even more curiosity to question and look where I have not looked before.
The course solidified previous learnings and as suspected gratefully questioned other beliefs I held about my own learnings which in all contributed to some fresh perspectives being noticed.
I know that some people think that doing repeated training's is a waste of time , I am not of that opinion and like to embrace more facets of the same diamond. I hold true with Bandler's view point that "certainty is where people stop thinking and stop noticing".
I was not disappointed in that challenge and found Michael inspiring in his own search for map enrichment with the rest of the group.
If any one is thinking of going on this course I would endorse it 100%. Well worth the money.
