Persuasion Engineering - Florida 07 -
Persuasion Engineering - Florida 07 Hi,
Just wondering if anyone from NLP Connections is going to be attending the PureMLPseminars in Feb 07 in Orlando ?
Hope to see some of you there
Mark -
Mlp? -
Re: Persuasion Engineering - Florida 07. I intend to be there ... but in March, I thought? -
Re: Persuasion Engineering - Florida 07. Hi James,
The dates i have are Feb 23,24,25 for persuasion Engineering & 27th Feb Through till 4th March for Meditation, Magick and Change.
I am attending both.
I have looked at PureNLP's recommende flight / Hotel bookers and the hotel rates are really very good...but i have found cheaper flights myself....just FYI.
Cheers. -
Re: Persuasion Engineering - Florida 07. Having said that,
If anyone knows I-Drive well, can they recommend any other hotels within say, walking distance of the Sheraton Studio City ? (A decent Motel would do...lol)
Cheers -
Re: Persuasion Engineering - Florida 07. There are quite a few cheap places around there Mark. Vince and Val found a good motel last year but I can't remember its name. Hopefully one of them will be along soon.
You can also get pretty cheap deals at the Sheraton if you book in advance and/or go through a good agent. Frank Marino (Global Event Planning) was recommended to me by PureNLP and he got me a good deal. His number is 1-516-777-3367. -
Re: Persuasion Engineering - Florida 07. Thanks Chris,
It was Frank that qouted me the rates.
I will probably go with the rates he supplied, if only to be staying 'on campus' so to speak.
Cheers. -
Re: Persuasion Engineering - Florida 07. Mark I know the Orlando/Kissimme area very well as I have a house in Kissimme. The Sheraton is expensive compared to deals you can get at others around, however, if you go to one of the cheaper hotels/motels you will need to consider transport as well as other things like cleanliness.
The "Days Inn" chain of hotels are much cheaper and there are some along I Drive. -
Re: Persuasion Engineering - Florida 07. Staying on campus has the advantage that you can nip up to your room during breaks, and stuff like that. It's good if you forget your badge / wallet / book, like I did most days!
A lot of people stayed in other hotels though -- there's a couple on the next block that seemed to be of similar quality but charged quite a bit less, and there's even cheaper places within a 5-10 minute walking distance. All depends what you want.
Daze In is a good name for a hotel or a hypnosis course. haha -
Re: Persuasion Engineering - Florida 07. I would also be interested to hear from anyone who has attended this course before.
What did you get out of it ?
What did you learn?
Was it worth it?
Cheers -
My review? A tour de force in persuasive use of language.
Bandler and La Valle both really mesh here, more so than on other courses with the two men I've attended, delivering a powerful 1-2 punch. Not that I thought they had poor or just average sync on other courses, mind you. They're normally great together and here they're even better.
The teaching is self contained and delivers a powerful persuasive language system rather than just bits and bobs. Not that you couldn't combine it with other things to make it even more effective, it's just that it's damn effective even if that's all you know.
Even Derren Brown 'really liked this one' (Tricks of the Mind, P. 347, referring to the book, which is an editied seminar transcript) and you know how picky Derren can be!
It is expensive and I also think it's good value, especially in the US where even with the vacation it might be cheaper than attending similar in the UK. I know that a bit of new stuff has been added since I did it, so I'd even consider going again.
Those are my (and Derren's) two cents, for what they're worth...
Be Well,
Michael Perez

Re: Persuasion Engineering - Florida 07. Thanks Michael,
I have heard that the course is excellent....if your in sales!
I am not in sales as such, more coaching and consultancy (in a niche field) so would the course benefit me or my business in anyway ( in your opinion) ?
Look forward to your reply
Cheers -
I dunno, do you ever need to persuade anyone of anything as a consultant? I know I did!
My estimation is that it's worth it for anyone who would value a way to get their points across more effectively and persuasively (just make sure your points are good to start with... ). If you don't need to convince people of things in any context very often, you might have less need to learn this material.
Is that useful, Mark? If not, I'm glad to clarify further, just let me know.
Be Well,

Mark and James,
I'm also planning on going, just looking at accommodation for my family, as will turn it into a holiday too.
John LaValle was moaning about the exchange rate at the moment when he replied to me the other day. It would be great to make the most of it!
The only worry is how much stuff we'll bring back home!
Hope to see you guys there.

Re: Persuasion Engineering - Florida 07. Hi Geoff,
If you are going to be with family, i can thoroughly recommend WWW.Elaines-villas.com
Villas are approx 15 mins drive from I-Drive and are clean and very well furnished (and have pools)
Not economical for me on my own, but if your with family they are reasonable priced.
hope that helps.
Cheers. -

In contrast to what Mike and the other Mark said, I have to tell you that IF you are new to sales, then its a good training......for beginners. If you've taken other NLP training that included instruction how to employ metaprograms and anchoring in the sales context, then Persuasion Engineering willl be a BIG dissappointment. I have to be fair and say that I took PE in 1999 and if John and Richard have added to it MEASUREABLY, then my opinion may not be as valid. Yet a really good NLP based sales training will include MP's and anchoring, neither of which were SUBSTANTIVELY covered when I attended PE. it was my first time to witness Richard & JOhn live and while Richard can be hysterically funny, I go to get skills not just be entertained.

Re: Persuasion Engineering - Florida 07. Persuasion is not just for salespeople. We spend our whole lives persuading people of things.
Get a copy of the Book, it is one of the best Bandler books I have read. Some excellent stories, it is just possible that some of them may be true. -

Mark wanted a review of the course and its was natural to assume that he's probably a salesman or in a profession where that process is used FREQUENTLY. while it may be true that all people spend much of their life ATTEMPTING to persuade others, and of course some are much more successfull then other, PE will be more valuable to those in the sales profession, then say Forensic accountants, marine biologists, architects, or.......... train conductors.
now maybe you will suggest PE to everyone YOU meet, yet I personally would suggest NLP Practitioner training(rather than PE) to nonsales people. and the book of the same name is overrated -
Re: Persuasion Engineering - Florida 07. I was recomending the book to Mark since it only costs around 25 quid and it will give him a good idea what PE is about. I found it an excellent book although I know some people find the style doesn't fit their map. I got a lot more out of it the second time I read it, I just let the stories flow over me and then I absorbed some very useful ideas.
I would sugest both. I got a lot out of my Practisioner training, and I would also like to go on the PE course if I have time and funds.
I think the techniques would be very useful for train conductors. They are by themselves at all times of the day and night interacting with some very strange people. Being able to persuade people to be nice, stop upsetting the other pasangers and pay the fare would be a really useful skill. -
Re: Persuasion Engineering - Florida 07. Thanks for the posts guys,
I am a Master Prac (Bandler / Mckenna/Le Valle Trained).
As i said in an earlier post, i am primerily a consultant and coach (in a niche field) and to qoute a phrase, i would be interested in the course to 'sell myself / services'
I have the book already, and like most Bandler books, i found it dissapointing (dont know why i keep buying em !)
I am in no way involved in 'sales' persay..other than as mentioned previously to sell my business / services.
Guess i will have to 'suck it and see'
