Thanks for the posts guys,
I am a Master Prac (Bandler / Mckenna/Le Valle Trained).
As i said in an earlier post, i am primerily a consultant and coach (in a niche field) and to qoute a phrase, i would be interested in the course to 'sell myself / services'

Guess i will have to 'suck it and see'
Cheers. Hi Mark,
Just as a suggestion, how about creating a well-formed outcome or two for attending the course?
Michael Perez wrote recently to the effect that if he sets the right frame, he can learn something from almost anyone. I would agree with that and I think a well-formed outcome could be useful.
How would you like to improve your ability to sell yourself and your services? What would you have to change? Just simply quantifying what specifically you want to get from attending may help you have a more satisfying experience. I know it has helped me.
Then of course, you have the fun of going back over the course and filtering for all the fun, new things that had nothing to do with your intention but do inspire you none the less.
All the best,
Phil http://www.philmattingly.com -
Hi All,
Phil makes a really useful point, methinks.
I think of any training I take as a gold mine of information, intentional and otherwise. I pursue what can be learned quite aggressively. I'm not afraid to 'dig around and get my hands dirty' as it were.
For example, I got a heck of a lot more out of PE rather than the meta-programmes and anchoring that Jim Rapson felt the training focused on, from his point of view. For me, instead, I got a a cohesive system in which anchoring and eliciting and employing buying strategies was only a part.
In fairness to Jim however, he might have had a really kick-ass prac course that he had aggressively engaged with and perhaps he already put all those components together for himself. So, for him, PE was more of the same. Perhaps his own mining efforts had already paid off as far as that payload was concerned!
And I guess that's the trick of these things. One man's cup of water and crust of bread is another man's feast. Reviews will almost always generate a range of views.
The trick is, I think, to decide which of the people you're reading seem to you to be most like you in that category and weight those reviews most heavily. That's why it can also be useful to look at someone's posting history to see if they're reviewed similar things that you have also experienced to see if there are similarities.
Something else useful, in my experience is to look at people who did get more out of a training than you did to get an idea of what they got that perhaps you didn't. When I experience that, I go back and sift back through the course in my head just to see if there aren't a few more nuggets to bring up from that particular mine.
Just some thoughts on strategies that have been useful to me. Hope they're useful for some of you as well!
Be Well,

Re: Persuasion Engineering - Florida 07. Well,
Thanks for the info guys.
I have read the book and spoken to others in a similar position / profession to myself that have attended PE since I began this thread...and i have decided not to attend.
IMHO the book and all of the other opinions that i have picked up tell me that it is just a little more than a Prac Course with the accent on sales.
Instead, i have decided to attend the Trainer training in March (with Pure NLP)
Still looking for a decent 'dive' in the area though if anyone has any ideas ?
Cheers,
Mark -
Re: Persuasion Engineering - Florida 07. Hey Mark,
I'm not sure if these are precisley what you are looking for but the 2 names that spring to mind is nlpconnections very own James Lavers, who I have heard nothing but positive comments about.
Alternativly I know Michael Neill has a coaching weekend comming up that I think covers practice building, marketing etc so that may be more to your liking.
Both are members on here so I'm sure if you message them they'll answer any specific questions you have (if they don't spot this particular thread.
Hope that helps

Re: Persuasion Engineering - Florida 07. I love to read how people use their sameness meta program to evaluate two courses. In this case it involves deleting A LOT of information and distorting a lot of things as well.
If Persuasion Engineering and a prac course are the same or just a little more accent on sales then me and Buda are the same people just with a little more accent on sarcasm.
First of all most prac programs are at least 4 times more time which means there most be more material. Secondly At PE john teaches stuff he only and I repeat only teaches at his sales programs. Might appear to be simple stuff (because it it) but it is also stuff that can double or triple your income almost instantly. It did for me.
Anyway, Mark if you are not attending buy the DVDs... the book is almost 15 years old and the material has changed in some cases and added more juicy stuff.
Just my thoughts -
I am selling my copy of the Persuasion Engineering DVDs here. -
Moving on...
Anyone going to be attending the Trainer training (Charisma Enhancement) ?
Feel free to buy me a beer or even a meal if you are going to be there
Cheers in anticipation,
Mark -
