Course Review - Advanced Therapeutic Specialist

This course outlined some interesting topics in the advertising content but kept me wondering what exactly the course would be enabling us to do with this new information.

Well all was revealed in this seven day course held in central London.

The two trainers Gabriel Guerrero and Mark Hayley who both have strong connections with Richard Bandler and his current work delivered a new course which has been endorsed and certified By RB. The content of the course was giving us the understanding and skill to be able to do the style of therapy which Richard Bandler uses in his personal enhancement sessions.

Each trainer took a morning or afternoon session and delivered the content of the course with their particular style of delivery not a million miles away from the master himself but with their own fingerprint in evidence.

This was a fun course and any attempt to get 'serious' was dealt with quickly and efficient with humor anchors at the right moment.

Both trainers were using metaphor, UI, cognitive application and demonstrations. There was very little need for note taking.

We were also treated to a guest appearance by Eric Robbie who delivered a fascinating demonstration of sensory acuity which was frankly mind blowing! We were taught how to use some of these techniques to directly use with the instruction we were receiving from the other two trainers.

I found the class size very appropriate for the exercises we needed to carry out. Also very important was the fact that the class ability was as requested, already at a high level of understanding and skill, plus the delegates were all familiar with the style and approach to RB'S way of teaching. This meant that both trainers were able to pitch the instruction at a consistent level and of a training style that we recognized.

Both trainers demonstrated excellent communication skills and were very approachable to ask specific questions in between breaks.

We found out many secrets, which opened up a whole area of application to the model as we know it.

If you are thinking of going on another course by them if they do one at a letter date, I would recommend you go and experience what it is they have to impart. For me personally I came away much more than I hoped to learn. I found it a very thought provoking seven days and in addition to the new skills and understanding required to work in this new format, I also found certain beliefs challenged and altered by the end of the course. Many of us were experiencing changed sleep patterns by the end of the course and an increased energy.

For me it gets a 10/10.

Perhaps someone from the course might like to summarise what they actually learnt.

Hi John
I can understand your curiosity for more content.
It was late when I sat down to write the review and wanted to impart my experience as opposed to content of what it was we learnt. Because the course took seven days to deliver, any attempt I make to present the full picture will indeed have huge chunks missing. And was to be experienced and not written about.

One of the things for instance that was covered was ethics and how this model presented should be used, and how we might like to consider our application of it.
That might seem like a strange topic out of context, but it was an integral part of the presupposition to this system, namely, The client makes the change ( this might not seem like much of a statement to some people , but to others on this forum it is a million miles away from there maps operating system) we guide from a position of witness and conductor, mixing many voices in an orchestra to one common goal that the orchestra could not see as individual players. In that we are looking in to meta programs, beliefs and values, how we build and maintain generalizations, how we can modify them or take them apart.
Breaking content down by the use of the above mentioned tools, and combining them with strategies, looking for patterns and structures from the persons view of the world by the use of questions, to find what is 'missing' from the information.
All this simultaneously is the goal. The result is desirably quick, long lasting and to the point, and very often a surprise to the client as to how the change has occurred.
There is an important attitude required which I cannot convey easily in words which was very important to how one should orchestrate the results from the therapists input. This is why the teaching style and delivery by the two trainers was important. It's like learning how to perform music from the position of how it should feel, the overall result, as opposed to the theoretical analysis of how the bars are made up. That was there but was secondary to the feel of where you were going with the therapy.

Hope this sheds a little light for you john.

Peter

Dear All,

This is the first time that I am posting on this site. And the reason for that is that I finally met Chris - I did tell him the downside of some of the things on the site but OVERALL what he has done for the community is fantastic. No other forum rivals this one - keep it up Chris and well done.

With regards to the training - well. What can I say that Peter hasn't. It was exceptional to work with both Mark and Gabe and they are truly outstanding trainers. I like the fact that Mark and Gabe had different delivery styles and on some points would not always agree with each other - only further fueling the debate that it is about more choice. In the big picture I walked out with more choices that I had earlier and learnt a phenomenal amount of work.

It was the first time that I met Gabe and I was blown away with his sense of style and humility - in short what a great guy - even if he doesn't speak any english

I have attended all of Mark's trainings this year - and my word, what a trainer.

Eric Robbie did drop in - and my god. To use the words of a Jewish Princess that I know - "he is so unassuming" Eric demonstrated some very trippy things and seems to know everything about everything. A very nice guy who is great company.

I told Chris when I met him that one of the things that I personally was not a fan of with regards to all forums is that there is too much conscious discussion of unconscious behaviours, and strategies. So in keeping with that premise I will say this much - for those of you who missed it - well UNLUCKY. We all came out learning heaps more and have lots more states and choices. Working with clients now will be even more fun. If you are ever near any of these three trainers - I would look them up and attend any of their workshops. I also want to take this opportunity to say WHATS UPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP to all, especially Clive and Mel who are both beautiful people and highly skilled at what they do. Also a what's up to the sexiest woman in the world - RACHAEL, WE LOVE YOU.

I saw some mention about the secrets above. Which one are we talking about - all 6 or just the 1st one.

Well done Mark, Gabe and Eric - for the training and experience. We will be back.

Ciao Bella

To everyone who was there - hello from Aberystwyth and thanks for your contributions to an amazing week. Thought it was going to be great, maybe even important ... well it was better than I could ever hallucinate it would be.

I can appreciate the frustration, maybe even confusion, generated by our enthusiasm if you couldn't get there this time. Naturally that will turn into a large slice of go for it next time there's an opportunity.

Let's sprinkle that magic on clients ... and others ... now

Much love,
Ian

You know the other odd thing? I've had half a dozen calls from potential new clients in the last two days, and I haven't done any new advertising or anything.

They aren't even referrals (90% of my new business is referrals) -- these people are just stumbling upon my website.

The future is becoming increasingly exciting...
