Posts: 1 | | | Personal Enhancement CDs from Richard Bandler Hi all
Having recently purchased the 6 CD personal enhancement series (including "Tenacious Resolve, Designing your destiny, Wealth Planning" etc), I got worried that I'd been conned when it didnt arrive in the CD case with the CD jacket I had previously seen elsewhere, and also it didn't sound like Richard on the CDs. Having had a look at some NLP forums on the web, someone accurately described the person speaking on the CDs as a "deep south sounding Barry White".
Someone else suggested it might be Denver Clay that speaks on the CDs (although not sure what he sounds like) and not Richard. What has given me the clue that it might be ok is that parts of the background music are similar to the trance music used in the Paul Mckenna master prac course a week ago, but just wanted to double check with anyone on this site whether I have indeed bought the real deal.
I bought it from here by the way: NLP - Richard Bandler - Personal enhancement cds
Can anyone help? (and how has anyone else found these?)
Thanks :-)

It is Richard. They ARE utterly awesome!
Rest assured that you can sit back and relax safe in the knowledge that you don't need to prevent yourself from remembering the fact that you don't need to worry about anything other than that which feels good as you listen to these....oops
Incidently does anyone know if the specific music you mentioned is aailable to buy...Rachael!!!!???

I have the cd's that you mention although I bought them from another dealer.
I doubt that any one will have gone to the trouble to re-record them them selves as a imitation (not impossible).
Yes the music is what you will have heard at the PMT. You should not have any difficulty recognizing RB''s accent though. I find the cd's very good myself.
His voice is recorded very clearly on the discs and is bass rather than mid or treble sounding.
You should be able to notice how he stretches out some of the words and hopefully to won't remember much after the first 5 minutes of listening until the cd ends and you have a big smile on your face for some unexplained reason. | | | | Message posted: 11th Oct 06, 08:09 am

Posts: 281 | | | Guys I'm gonna be honest, I've never really had a 'magical' experience when listening to these CDs. I put them on, chill out then end up falling asleep, and when I wake up, I usually have a headache and feel rather confused, and there have been No major shifts in my life to suggest that the CDs have had any other effect than 'knocking' me out!
Strange, because I really do want to enjoy them and get the greatest use from them. I find McKennas CDs far more relaxing and beneficial.
Am I the only one who feels this way? | | | | Message posted: 11th Oct 06, 09:45 am

I know that Richard (and Denver Clay) played around with the waveforms of the audio quite a bit on these recordings. People's ability to hear things at different frequencies varies, as do people's reactions to hearing things at unusual frequencies. It may be, although it is far from certain, that this might be the explanation for your experience.
As for Richard's strange accent on these CDs, it seems to me that he's riffing on Milton's western accent a bit. Sometimes it's hard to tell when you listen to later recordings, but Milton had a pretty strong western accent. I myself will sometimes use accents during deep trance inductions. It can be a wonderful way of creating a very different experience and it's all about different experiences, isn't it?
Personally, I love them and I find them to be a rather useful sleeping aid if I find myself not wanting to go through the bother of deepening my own normal trance enough to sleep easily. Yes, I admit it... I'm lazy sometimes! And Richard's wonderful buttery delivery on these recordings tends to add to the temptation to sloth in this case...
For those interested in other really good musical trance CDs, I'd suggest looking at (Paul McKenna's)b material, which has also been recommended on this thread and (Nick Kemp)b has also done some (excellent)i trance CDs. I mention these because I have direct experience with all of them and have found all of them to be of excellent quality, both in terms of production values and sound quality as well as in terms of the skill levels and deliver quality of the hypnotists involved.
Does anyone else have some favorite trance CDs they might like to mention?
Be Well,

Posts: 44 | | | In answer to James' questions, the neurosonics music which is used in the Personal Enchancement series is available to buy.
It's the CD called The Music of Richard Bandler. On a McKenna training the trance music they use at the end of the day when Paul is on is 16 minutes and 6 seconds into CD 1.
As far as I know this double CD is only available at the Paul Mckenna Training seminars.

Posts: 372 | | | Those CDs just send me to sleep, too, William. Maybe they're having powerful unconscious effects as well, but I doubt it.
If I want something a bit trancey, I use Doug O'Brien's Health and Healing, Nick Kemp's Adventures of Well Being Now, or a lovely 'Chakra Meditation' of Jamie Smart's which is at the very end of his Art of Being CD set.
Jamie, did I mention that I thought you ought to release that as a separate item? :-) | | | | Message posted: 11th Oct 06, 04:54 pm

Posts: 364 | | | I like Bandlers definition of the difference between Sleep and trance whilst listening to his CD's
If you wake at the end of the CD....thats trance.
If you wake 8 hours later with the headphone cord wrapped around your neck !...thats sleep !

Posts: 68 | | | If you like Denver Clay's trance music, then have a listen to 'The Sphinx of Imagination' with Hypnotica. http://www.hypnotica.org/
Wonderful music and endless nested loop stories - I defy anyone to hear it all first time.

Posts: 141 | | | You might give Lloyd Glauberman a go. He's published a fairly decent range of double induction storytelling CDs. Some are higher quality, in production and in story content, than others, especially his early work that lacks the technical polish of his later sets.
There have been reports floating around on various fora claiming that a good result comes from consistently listening to them over a 30-45 day span.
If you would like to give them a long haul test, might be better to order 4 or 5 titles and rotate though them. If nothing else you'll give your mind a nice double hemisphere workout and gain processing flexibility. | | | | Message posted: 6th Sep 08, 03:57 am

I enjoy the story telling and his metaphors are lovely. However thanks to Sally above who recomended hypnotica I purchased the Sphinx of imagination and it is awesome.
The most beautiful magical story ever. Every time i listen to it I fall asleep....and have already listened to it like 20 times

I can't help but wonder, considering your numerous posts regarding what doesn't work, if perhaps you might think about trying something new...............
Just a thought

Posts: 117 | | | Re: Personal Enhancement CDs from Richard Bandler Question about the Sphix CD - I had a brief look at the website and clicked on the "hints" bit and it's all in rhyme... is the trance cd in rhyme? I'm interested and may buy it but will not pay for it if its rhyming even the 4 second soundbyte was irritating. | | | | Message posted: 11th Mar 09, 03:49 am
