    Practitioner course with NLP Excellence

I have been planing to do a practitioner course for the last year. As I run my own business I was keen to find one that would compress the material into a shorter time. I considered quite a few possibilities and NLPconnections was an excellent way of finding out trainers who would “walk the walk” or otherwise.
Having spent most of my life using scientific method I was also keen to find a trainer that leaned in that direction. I would be learning a lot of new things in a short time so I didn’t want to spend some of that time wondering if I was being sold magic beans or crystals. I am sure there are a lot of things that are not understood by conventional science but I would rather start from a solid position. I also find I learn better in small groups where I can ask questions as I go along. These were the main reasons for choosing this course. I did consider going back to the source and going to the Bandler course but I decided to leave that for the future when I have a basic grounding in the subject. I wondered if the master of a subject was the best person to learn NLP 101

So much for my reasons for choosing the course.

NLP Excellence has an unusual model. The two-day diploma course is free. No charges at all, even the course materials are free. They believe that a sufficient number of people will then go onto the practitioner to cover their costs. I took the diploma in Guilford in April and then decided to take the Practitioner in August in Brighton. The two days of the diploma count towards the Practitioner so the total time is 7 days (2 + 5). There were around a dozen people on each course, this seemed a good number as there were enough people to play with but I was able to ask questions easily.

The venue was a hall at the back of a Unitarian church, sounds strange but as it seemed to be used as a nursery during the rest of the year; all the kids stuff in the room gave a playful feel to the room and provided some fun props for the exercises. There was also a kitchen with coffee, tea and cold drinks always available. This seems like a small point but often in a hotel there are staff hanging around to provide these things. They can be inhibiting and their presence controls the time of breaks. Making our own drinks and taking snacks when we wanted them added to the easy feel and aided bonding with other course members.

The course was taught by John Cassidy-Rice, very friendly, approachable and very able to demonstrate all the techniques that he taught. John used a range of methods including talk and powerpoint slides, exercises, demonstrations, stories, nested loops and some trance techniques.

The website ( NLP Practitioner ) gives a good overview of the course and content so I won’t go into much detail. The material was organised by the following headings Day 1 Values , Day 2 Communication, Day 3 Unconscious Communication, Day 4 Personal Transformation, Day 5 Integration.

We also received 3 CDs to play after the course to remind us of the content, they are in the form of PowerPoint presentations with music. A very useful addition.

Overall I was very pleased with my investment of time and money. I learned an enormous amount on the course, much, of which I am only now beginning to know that I have learned. If you are thinking of taking practitioner course then consider applying to join the diploma. It will only cost you 2 days and I believe it will be an excellent investment.

Sorry about the spelling in the title. I should be able to spell ''Practitioner''

Is there anyway to edit these things?

No, and a bit of variety adds character anyway!

I'm glad you had a rewarding experience on the course! Once we have the resource section up and running, is it ok to put a copy of your review in the course reviews section?

Please feel free to use the review. It will be great to be able to read real reviews for other courses too.

I believe that Twain didn't enjoy punctuation so at the end of a book he would add a note to his publisher with lots of commas and full stops. The note said ''sprinkle to taste''.
