| Lincoln Practice Group Notes Hi Firstly Thanks to all those who joined us last night and helped to make it such a fun and interesting learning experience. OK, we started with some discussion of our discoveries so far and how we are all making little changes to the way we do things which in turn are making differences in our daily lives. We explored the ability that all people have to find the resources within themselves with a non verbal exercise which produced some remarkable results - I look forward to your feedback next month! The exercise was also a great learning tool for the presupposition that mind and body are one system. We discussed some ways of achieving similar results linguistically, such as, "What would happen if you try to feel that way about it standing up?" "What would happen if you try to feel that way about it sitting up straight?" "What would happen if you try to feel that way about it with your hands flat on the table?" "What would happen if you try to feel that way about it looking at that clock/chair/door/ pen?" "What would happen if you try to feel that way about it walking with me?" The presupposition in the statement to ' try' to feel it the same way presupposes failure in achieving 'feeling the same way about it" We practiced going quiet on the inside with some great discoveries for each of us. - I recommend practicing this for a couple of minutes a day as a matter of course, just because it's good to spend some time quiet, and I'm happy to revisit that exercise anytime and as often as anyone likes. Very powerful. I did a little demo with "walking out a problem state", which when you think about it is one of those day to day useful exercises. I'll be adding more to this in my weekly tip this week so look out for it. We finished the evening with the "Belts and Braces Circle of Excellence" as I mentioned this is different to the original "Circle of excellence" and is now being taught in the States as part of the practitioner programme. This gave me the opportunity to show that things don't always 'go' as planned, the anchor I set kinesthetically did not get the results I was expecting when I went to 'fire' the anchor - nothing happened! It MAY be that the person I was working with was experiencing such strong kinesthetic internally that my anchor setting had been deleted, my setting may not have been accurate, my firing may not have been accurate - I don't know but, It gave me an opportunity to utilize a very strong anchor that she had set for herself which was a gesture and verbalization. It is good to be reminded that this stuff works all the time, except when it doesn't and that flexibility is key, it was also (for me) an excellent demonstration of, People have all the resources they need. I look forward to seeing you next month. Other NEWS: The date for next month (September) on the site is incorrect so as soon as I've got the date confirmed I'll mail you. I've been asked to go and look after a holiday park for a couple of weeks by an old friend who needs some help, so I though why not, It will be some great experience. The price will also increase from £5 to £10 a night to allow us to have tea, coffee etc available. This will be a nice addition to the group I think. |
