NLP and coaching telephone practice group

    Hey y'all --

Who wants to join me in an informal telephone practice group?

I'm a coach, and want to restructure my practice, this time using an NLP approach with clients, and I'd love to have some colleagues to practice with.

Please message me through the forum -- we'll agree on a time. If you have skype, the call will be free -- no long distance.

I think it'll be fun...the challenges of using NLP skills within a telephone coaching format are myriad.

Sounds interesting - can you let us know what format it would take?

    Thanks,

    Al

Re: NLP and coaching telephone practice group

    Hi, Al!

Quite informal, initially. We can all call into a bridge line, and I think we can find one that costs nothing from the UK.

I see the first meeting or two as getting to know each other, and where our interests lie. Based on group input, we could then formalize subsequent meetings and set up an agenda. Perhaps a different topic each meeting? Perhaps some role-play?

Maybe we'll even do some mastermind sessions to help our practices grow.

My main purpose is to get together with a group of people with similar interests to mine, have a good time, and share some ideas. I see myself more as facilitator and organizer.

Furthermore, I'd like to start making personal contact with people I hope to meet in the flesh. I'm not yet able to join the in - person practice groups in the UK, and since we coaches generally work by phone anyway, it seems like a good way to, uh, kill two birds with one stone.

(I plan to visit the UK next summer...and there exists a remote possibility that I might move to England to complete my studies...that remains to be seen.)

I'm open as to where it goes from there.

Sounds interesting, I'd be willing to have a go at that. I do telephone coaching too and now I have Skype since Al twisted me arm into getting it hehe.

    Cool!

Let's see how big a group we can get -- it would be nice to have, say 20 people...that way, probably ten or twelve would actually show. That's a nice number, good for interactive discussions. It would also help in masterminding.

    Hi, Matt -- welcome!

Yes, I think it will be fun, too. I've spoken to two people already about presenting, so as the group grows, we can pick a time to meet.

I'm down with this Skype thang, so hell yeah, sign me up.

As for meeting me in the flesh, you'll have to get to know me better first

Re: NLP and coaching telephone practice group

    Hey, y'all --

Well, we have nearly infinite freedom on this.

Is there a day that works best for everyone? We do need to take into account the difference in time zones...I'm on Eastern US (NY time) -- but I think I may be the only one?

And I'm flexible --I can stay up late or get up early (within reason -- I do go to work, and i have to take my daughter to school in the AM). So, I think we should find what works best for the majority, then tweak it from there.

Any thoughts, suggestions? Let's find a good time...

Re: NLP and coaching telephone practice group

No one day is best for me as my shift pattern is based on an 8 day week, so whilst Friday is good this week, I'll be working Friday next week (I work both days and nights), soooo I'll join in when I can, how's that for bring non committal. Seriously, you'll know one way or another as to whether I'll be there for the sesh, just need a time and date.

Re: NLP and coaching telephone practice group

Weekends are good for me, too -- Saturdays are fine...do you think we can agree on a Saturday? Conventional wisdom, however, says that weekends don't work for most...because they are going out, so just throwing that out there.

So is that true for this group?

Sunday would be great for me.

During the week I may be away visiting customers. Friday and Saturday we are often out.

Re: NLP and coaching telephone practice group

Mondays and Sundays work the best for me. Also my mornings are ussually free except Friday and Saturday. Is there a way to post a poll on this forum? So everyone just votes on that.
