    Learning How to Learn

    Hi,

In the back of "Using Your Brain for a Change" by Richard Bandler, there is an appendix introducing a program called "Learning How To Learn". It says that the program "specializes in NLP techniques for accelerated language learning". Does anyone have any information on it or any ideas as to how to find out more?

    Thank you
    Charles

    Re: Learning How to Learn

Using Your Brain For A Change is a pretty old book - I guess any programs they advertised in the back of there will have been a long time ago now. (Usually people in that NLP crowd use 'program' to mean a seminar or workshop - some kind of event - rather than a television program.)

Maybe Steve Andreas can tell us about it?

Nowadays Bandler is teaching a new program called Using Even More Of Your Brain For A Change. Details for that are on this website.

    Chris,

Are you trying to say that Steve Andreas is a person of, er, a certain age?

There wouldn't be any age discrimination going on around here now, would there? ;-)

Ah but didn't you notice I also used the word 'program' myself to include myself in 'that crowd' too?

    Re: Learning How to Learn

    Chris,

    Well, no. I guess I didn't. :-)

Truth be told, I've been warned lately that I need to learn to pay attention to detail.

The mind just boggles with the level of details out there, though, so how can one decide which ones are important enough to pay attention to -- and which are not?

    Sigh.

    Ah, me.

Are you looking for accelerated language learning, Charles? There's at least one long thread on the forum discussing that if so.

    Re: Learning How to Learn

    Thank you for the replies.

    Hi Bridget,

No. I have been very much enjoying exploring previous threads using the search function, language learning was one of the first topics I looked at. I am looking for info on that particular program mentioned in "Using".

I have also read Dilts/Epstein's book on learning and a few others that cover foreign language. However, I believe that so much more is possible. As an EFL teacher and a foriegn language enthusiast myself, I am always looking for more ideas.

    Thanks,
    Charles
