Advice on Appeal Letter to University with NLP
Hi,
This week I had the unfortunate news that I wasn't accepted to the UT at Austin, a university I applied for transfer as an internation student. If you send an appeal letter there is a chance that you might me accepted. I just think my letter's grammar is a bit bad because I'm from Mexico.
As I was correcting my letter I started thinking that maybe it would be a good Idea to add some NLP to the letter so maybe it could take a positive effect on the reader and increase my chance.
As i'm just starting at these I dont really know about NLP. Can anyone help in adding some NLP to the letter or giving me advice on the appeal letter?
Thanks!!
LFL
P.D.: PM if you want me to send you the appeal letter, or add me to the msn.

Re: Advice on Appeal Letter to University with NLP
Hi,
I dont know how the education system works on your side of the pond but I know here in the UK that complaining normally gets you your way.
Did they specify a reason for rejecting you? Do you have the entry qualifications and the suggested experience they are expecting new entrants to have?
Once you know the reason you were overlooked/rejected then I am sure we can help you with a letter that addresses the issue/s.
Thanks
Matt

Hi Matt,
As a transfer student applicant I fortunately met with all the requirements at the date they had assigned me.
This is what the rejection message said:
"After careful review of applications from a highly-competitive pool of applicants, the Admissions Committee at UT Austin is not able to offer you admission at this time. Approximately three times as many students apply each year as we are able to enroll."
There is still inside the rules the possibility of sending an appeal letter and being accepted. 4 friends of mine applied and 2 were not accepted and 2 were. The ones who were accepted were in the liberal arts school. The other two and me applied to the engineering school.
Hope you can help me.
Thanks and cheers!!

They did not make a mistake.
They made a good decision based on the evidence they had in front of them.
Were you required to make a statement about why you wanted to transfer?
If so my guess is that there was lots on information about why you wanted to be on the course. If I am wrong please ignore the rest of this post and wait for someone else to roll along.
Your appeal can rectify this by highlighting to them not just why they should want you but why they need you.
Reframe the appeal to highlight the benefit you will bring to the school during and afterwards.
So engineering is tougher to get into. Good. Even more reason to choose the best and that is you. Show them that is true.
