Question on Derren Brown's Trick or Treat Episode-speed Learning

As I'm pretty new to NLP, and Derren likes to mystify his tricks, I'm wondering if anyone can explain to me how to do such speed learning performance like the guy in this episode:

I need something that is easy and fast to learn to help me with my school examinations (only few left)...

I'm not sure but I think this might be Photoreading. There is a book by Paul Scheele on this. I have it on my waiting to be read pile so I can't tell you any more about it unfortunately.

Re: Question on Derren Brown's Trick or Treat Episode-s

    Filip,

I also think he is using photo reading skills here. As someone who spends their life trying to put integrity and passion into the education system I want to share a saying (which I made up) with you.

"Everyone gets the grade they deserve"

ohh and here is another one I just thought up,

"all the time you spent taking the piss out of nerds you will live to regret as one day you will be working for one"

There are many good ways of recalling 'lost' information, assuming you listened in your lectures then the info is in there somewhere. You have done the intake of information (the part which speed reading will do for you) but you now need to work on memory recollection. Most NLPers or hypnotists will be able to help you with that but again you have left it very late.

    You want some real advice?

Scan read your relevant text books and rewrite your lesson notes. Many teacher only teach you what you need in order to pass your exams, so if it was mentioned in a lecture then the chances are it is relevant for your exam.

But ultimatly, you will get the grade you deserve.

    Thanks

    Matt

Great quote I agreee whole heartedly I am always telling my students start revising early. The great thing about using NLP in the classroom is that I can install a love of revising and a compulsion to revise more...

Re: Question on Derren Brown's Trick or Treat Episode-s

i may be too late for this but derren might have used misdirection on that performance showing clips of the guy using this reading technique derren taught him which, i think, is nonsense. derren might have hypnotized the guy and told him the answers to the questions in the form of pictures so that it would be easier to remember. derren could have got his hands on the questions so he knew the answers.

Ummm, this was first posted in June! Hopefully this guy did some real study instead of just taking shortcuts.

I've done photoreading. If anyone has any other ideas I'm always keen to check them out. Kate, I visited your site.

On Friday Derren is doing a show to hypnotise 'you' to not be able to get off of your couch.. Interesting. (hopefully only during his show!)
