My mindset is 'cramming and last minute' is good.. i need help

Hi, I'm new here, 20 years old, and in university studying Architecture, and hopefully if I explain my problem clearly enough, some of you may be able to point me in the direction of the best NLP solution I could try (maybe a book, dvd, audio etc)

Basically, since I can remember I have always left work until the last minute, its been a major inconveniant problem at school, but now at university, its damaging my chances of a decent grade

In my mind, any work at all becomes 'that essay i did when I was 14 in 2 days, and aced', and 'the electronics project done in a weekend , which got top marks'

My problem mainly, is that even though Ive crammed, and struggled, in my past, ive always still achieved. I am still in this mindset! that despite my cramming, i still get the grade. Ive not been 'punished' for my last minute-ness.. apart from the few days of hell i go through toward every deadline

though now at university, a 12 week design project CANNOT be humanly fit into a few days.. its truely impossible, as designing a building does take time. but my mind is telling me.. go on, cram, do a few all-nighters, you come out fine.

So what i believe i need is for cramming to become a fear almost, as opposed to the 'good-result' getting technique of my previous education.

I hope that made sense. My lack of motivation to start work early i think comes from my belief that i can leave it very late and still get it done. In this i realise im over-estimating myself... which could be seen as confidence.. maybe i can switch it around some how?

Thank you

Leon
