Discussion:
Make Me Rich, McKenna! -
Make Me Rich, McKenna! Aristotle said, "We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then is not an act, but a habit."
In this thread, Attracting Finanical Security and Employment ..
I came up with an idea that might help the op and help myself in the process. I hereby formally (with an appreciative nod to our host Chris Morris) invite you to join along.
The idea is to make a start at becoming rich by utilizing the book, I Can Make You Rich by Paul McKenna. I Can Make You Rich: Amazon.co.uk: Paul McKenna: Books
Dr. McKenna defines rich as: "living your life on your own terms - according to your possibilities, not your limitations."
The book is full of a lot of interesting ideas, but to me, the important parts are in the exercises. In the book, "Just becoming aware of your current thoughts will begin the process of change, but it's the techniques we will begin doing shortly that will quickly reprogram your unconscious mind and positively alter your financial blueprint."
However, how often have you bought an NLP book full of exercises and not actually done them? I sure am guilty, too. To actually get through the book and reap all the benefits, I propose the following:
1. Get the book.
2. Make an initial post here declaring your intention to do the exercises for a set number of days (I recommend 30 days).
3. Do the exercises eveyday and post here on it everyday.
Of course, any discussion on the ideas, impressions of the book, questions you might have are welcome, but I am envisioning this as a focus on actually doing the exercises. I also respectfully request any off topic discussions to be done elsewhere.
Please let me know any comments/questions you have on the idea of this thread.
Thank you,
Charles -
What a wonderful idea Charles. I'll be up for doing it - I haven't read the book yet. -
Charles, I am joining you, as you do know , I need to achieve financial Security .. and this has to happen from the inside out .. so I will try to post some exercises and the progress done .. I have already read till page 116 .. where it says ' Rich thoughts lead to rich feelings , and the richer your feel the richer your life becomes. In order to create greater possibilities in your thinking , it is highly useful to think about money from a place of ease and flow' here is the MAIN block , most of us think of money of fear and greed , it is critical to be in the ' state of flow ' all the time .. Gheese I want to feel that I am in State of flow all the time, THIS would be Great in page 118, the exercise of dealing with fear, it says ' imagine losing all your money and rate your fear on a scale of 1 to 10 with 1 being the lowest and 10 the highest. this rating is essential because in a few moments we will want to know how much better it's become. 2- as you focus in, imagine being completely broke, fee the fear and take 2 fingers of either hand and tap about ten time sunder your collarbone. 3. now tap under your eyes ten times 4. now tap under your collarbone again 5. place your other hand in front of you and tape on the back of it between your ring finger and your little finger, continue to concentrate on the fear as you do this and each of the steps that follow ( there is small figure showing where to tap) · Close your eyes and open them · Keep your head still , keep tapping and look fown right down to the left · Keep tapping and rotate your eyes round 360 degrees clockwise , and now 360 degrees anti- clock wise Remember to keep thinking about the fear of having absolutely no money as you do this! · Now hum the first few lines of ‘ Happy birthday’ out loud · Count out loud from 1 to 5 · Once again hum the first few lines of ‘ Happy birthday’ out loud 6. stop and check on a scale of from 1 to 10 , what number is your fear at now ?? keep doing this until your fear is down to 2 or 1 -- end So guys, I will do this exercise in the next 24 hours, and I will be posting the next exercise soon , I listened to the CD attached to the Book , it feels great to listen to it . I love this feeling .. however I do appreciate if Any one explaining to me ' what tap means ' in simple word .. by the way, I had a meeting today with a business woman who called me after I made an ad asking for a full time Job .. well, she offered me a freelancing Job for a short period, So this is good. -
I read the book when it came out, I think a lot of the stuff is by Michael Neill.
I have now found my copy so I'll have a look through and see what appeals. -
I read the book some time back. The concepts in this book are the outcome of Paul McKenna's modelling couple of rich people. Paul outlines a lot of helpful beliefs which (he says) rich people have in relation to money as well as their capabilities regarding money-making. That part has been quite an eye-opener for me. It helped me discover couple of beliefs I had which prevented me from creating a financially abundant future for myself. I felt so much better when I changed all of them. Most of the exercises given in the book are pretty much basic, but how Paul tailor-made them for the purposes of the book, is what is admirable. I listened to the hypnosis CD that comes with the book, for almost a month. Planning to start listening regularly once again. All in all, I would say, the book is great if you want to change your relationship with money and improve your focus for achieving financial freedom.

Day One
Hi and thanks everyone for your interest in the thread.
I will be posting here everyday for 30 days.
I did the first exercise, "A Richer Life" on page 25. I wrote out 4 positive differences living a rich life will bring. It was interesting how they were different yet definitely overlapped. I also wrote out how being rich will positively effect different areas of my life.
Hey Sherin, way to go on your job offer! As for, "tap" use the search function for "EFT" and "TFT". Be warned that the topic is heatedly debated among NLPers. Here is a link to the wikipedia entry for EFT, Emotional Freedom Technique - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
See you tomorrow!

Day 2
I did the exercise on page 30 called "Creating Your Rich Anchor." Nlpers will recognize it as a stacking anchors exercise. We take the 4 positive things we learned from the previous exercise, anchor them, stack them, and then future pace it. We are then to repeat this 3 times a day for three weeks. The high school I work at is having year end exams and I had to proctor one, meaning standing in the back of the room doing nothing. I made full use of the time going through the exercise. Getting paid to become rich! I'm on my way McKenna! Keep my pina colada cold by the poolside!
I have noticed that the accompanying cd covers a lot of the same material as the exercise. I figure this means listening to it will get more and more effective as one proceeds through the book.

Indeed. I suggest you get on with it.

Hi Charles,
Thanks for taking the time to set this up. As of yesterday, I got hold of the book and CD induction, and am now playing catch up with you. I have however completed the exercises up to page 30 and have started to listen to the induction. I have set up some key words and anchors as suggested, and so far so good.
For whatever reasons, I have up to this point had a latent dislike of McKenna products - I don't know why as having now read the first part of the book, I found it easy to read and so far, it makes much pleasant sense. Essentially I have to agree with him that wealth starts as a well formed inner construct within the imaginative and creative mind. That perhaps was just my silly past prejudice, and representative of my edge against exploring prosperity thinking....up until now. I will no doubt explore that past reservation in the time ahead, as I get with this program and do some work around these issues.
Where this will lead to I know not, but am keeping a journal as I go through this process, and I will try to keep a pace with you over the next four weeks or so.
I have an interest in the process, sharing it over the forum and if in the longer term that leads to greater financial capability then I'll have that too thankyou.
I am in work and get by. I always have "got by", and it is probably about time that I more properly addressed this aspect of my life having indulged certain others, so thanks once again for your prompt to do so, and indeed Sherin, if she is still reading for her catalytic effect on you first.
Looking forward to the unfolding thread ahead, and participating in this. Catch up with you tomorrow too.
Regards

hi charles,
I am having some difficulty in The exercise in page 116 .. so I am not getting any results yet ..
I will not procceed until you reach page 116 .. this exercise should have been included in the CD .
well , this term 'tapping ' is not clear to me . and then in step 2 it is stated ' 2 fingers of either hands' , this means both hands or only one hand, and which hand , the right, or the left ?? and again which 2 fingers ?? i wish there was a small application of this exercise in the CD .. best regards Similar Threads -
