Problems with Spinning Feelings
Hi everybody. Well I'm quite new on this forum, so I'm not really sure, if this is the right place to post this thread.
I'm currently having some huge problems with spinning my good feelings to make them stronger. Well it's a bit odd, i've been trying to make it work for some time now, and sometimes, though very very rarely it works, but most of the time it doesn't. I took a look at this forum and found another thread concerning the same problem, or something similar, but not exactly the same: My spinning is wobbly!
I tried the things recommended there though, but without result.
If should describe my problem more in debth, i could say, that it sometimes works very easy and fluently, like i can just get a grap of the feelings, but most times it feels hard and like i'm not in touch with them or something like that. At those times it more feels like i'm doing a huge effort without having much impact on the feelings.
Have any of you had any similar problems or known anyone who might have had the same kind of problems? Any good suggestions or anything would be appreciated.
Kind Regards

Re: Problems with Spinning Feelings
Welcome to the forum Hemmelig. Becoming more aware of how feelings move around in your body can be a wonderfully rewarding experience. Remember that you've been spinning these feelings 'automatically' since you were a baby - outside of conscious awareness. Now you're developing the skill of noticing and controlling them more, and why should you be good at noticing and controlling everything all at once? Take your time and relax.
My suggestion is to focus on just one sensation and notice what happens to it over time. The more you play with it, the more progress you'll make. It's like most things - it takes some practice to get good at this.
Remember to spin feelings - i.e. kinesthetic senstations. Lots of people don't get the results they want because they try to imagine something (visually) rather than feel it (kinesthetically).
It's also a good idea to find someone to practice these things with. Do you know anybody in your area?

Wow how coincidental! I was just going to post on this very phenomenon! I had stopped smoking for a week by swishing then spinning any residue craving feelings that made themselves known. It worked very effectively for a week. Then my brain adapted and it didn't seem to matter which way I spun the craving feelings, They stayed the same. Now although I am proud of my brain learning how to adapt, it hasn't helped me to sustain stopping smoking.
Ah well back to Richard Bandler for more inspirations!

Re: Problems with Spinning Feelings
Chris, would you advise focusing on only one sensation or aspect of the sensation at a time to get a handle on the spinning? I completely understand your point about people visualizing as opposed to feeling something...But some more intense experiences seem to be bundled together and it fascinates me why this is occurs-but I run into trouble dealing with them when they are so strongly linked together.
