Posts: 288 | | | Re: A Hypnotherapist Publicly Loses Weight - Blog I am quite pleased I can lose weight (lost more than 4 inches) just by cutting out fat (cheese sandwiches and cheese on pasta - yummy) and eating less i.e. go hungry some nights... I thought either lose 5 nice suits I couldnt fit into or lose weight... I chose the least expensive option hehe.

Posts: 771 | | | Good for you, Andrew! Nothing like 'putting your money where your mouth is'!
I did a similar thing for my Taiji students to show them how using affirmations can affect your physical reality (via behaviour of course) and lost a stone and a half over the summer break a couple of years back.
I find I now need to lose a bit more, so you've inspired me to do that!
Thanks

I was tucking into my lasagne and checking the new posts on the forum, after seeing that video with a mouthful of lasagne- I may never eat again.
Not sure if that was the intention but your powers of influence to abstain from food are spreading.

Posts: 288 | | | Re: A Hypnotherapist Publicly Loses Weight - Blog I've seen on TV an old woman say she stuck her tongue out every time she looked in the mirror and this meant there was excercise to her lower jaw where the flesh btween the front lower teeth and neck stayed firm and didn't sag as you commonly see with older and overweight double-chinned people. | | | | Message posted: 25th Apr 08, 08:59 am

Posts: 864 | | | Re: A Hypnotherapist Publicly Loses Weight - Blog Great Idea. I will do the same this weekend. But mine won't be on youtube.
I wonder about the cream cake though, I don't eat many of those, most of our food is pretty healthy, my weight gain is due to just eating too much and not getting enough exercise.
I guess a pint of beer would be interesting.
There is an interesting thought here about the way that food and the consequent fat desexualise nakedness. I think that is the point of doing it naked. | | | | Message posted: 25th Apr 08, 09:11 am

| If you spend significant amounts of time naked in normal situations you lose the association society gave you that it is linked to sex. Though that doesn't stop giving you pleasure from seeing a member of the opposite gender if they are very attractive.

Posts: 288 | | | Re: A Hypnotherapist Publicly Loses Weight - Blog It might be worth instead of just focusing on the behaviour of thin people but looking at cultural belief systerms and cultural behaviours. For instance, there are foreign foods where the food is often greesy with sir fry and deep fry dishes often on the menu.. Chinese food sold here is altered to British tastes I am told, but it is very often greesy it seems, so why have I never seen a fat Chinese person??? | | | | Message posted: 25th Apr 08, 01:24 pm

-----
"cultural belief systerms and cultural behaviours"
I cringe when I hear the older generation instruct others to
"clear your plate" or those who insist on "3 meals a day" or you should continue to eat despite you body being in relative pain because "people are dying in Africa".
As most of us are reliant on parents or guardians to manage our food and eating habits as we grow up it is only natural that we take on their habits and approach to food. It is scary since most of their advice was formed or based on economic pressures from their childhood and not formed from any scientific or nutritional research.
Also, as birthday treats we have cakes and junk food as party food, most celebrations are liked to cakes, chocolate eggs, enormous banquets of food and binge eating. IMHO the older generation often see 'fancy' or large volumes of food as a sign of wealth or affluence. Also 'treating' kids with a trip to burger joints or giving them food and toys at the same time simply builds some terrible anchors in young minds. No wonder people try and eat away boredom or unhappiness when they get older.
There are probably more burger joints in China than there are in Britian but they have obesity problems just as much as the rest of the developed world. Jon, you make a good point about the fact that it is not just what you eat that counts but what happens to the food on its way to you. I had heard a few people claim that oven chips are just sliced up potatoes and that KFC is just breaded chicken and were content that a chicken and chips meal from KFC is just the same as eating a jacket potato with fresh chicken.
I wonder if binge eating has caused more health problems that binge drinking?
Matt

Posts: 288 | | | Re: A Hypnotherapist Publicly Loses Weight - Blog Andy,
Observation no-ones made I don't think but although you changed the context of eating the cake in the mirror like that and made it a unenjoyable experience, you still finished it... Reminds me that Paul McKennas weight loss guide includes an instruction to getting used to leaving food on your plate, even by starting off with the tiniest amount so you can get out of the mindset of finising it off. Plus, what if you accidently install a negative anchor and become disgusted with cream cakes forever? Then you've lost the enjoyment of something that tastes nice albeit unhealthy... | | | | Message posted: 25th Apr 08, 07:29 pm

Posts: 288 | | | Re: A Hypnotherapist Publicly Loses Weight - Blog Anyway, Paul's product doesn't require any motivation from what I have been told. must be why its so easy to do. I loved it... Single most beneficial thing I did was to eat slowly and end up feeling full long before I finished the entire plate which meant I only ate what I needed.
