Beauty and press

There has been a whole to do lately in the Netherlands about the press and how their portraying gorgeous (photoshopped or not) people and how it may be affecting the body image of people and especially women.

Now I was wondering what your take is on how to maintain a body image wich makes you feel good taking into account the possible effect of the media and their presentation of pretty people? And also if you have a client who considers him or herself as not being beautifull and if it's in their way, what would you do make sure they regain their selfesteem about their looks.

I was talking about this the other day with a friend of mine who I consider as being beautifull and she told me she didn't perceive herself as being beautifull because she wasn't skinny enough and she said it felt worse when she was reading through glossy magazines with pretty people. So what are your thoughts on this?
