    Help for Social Anxiety/BDD

A very dear cousin of mine suffers from ongoing Body Dysmorphic Disorder (sees a false and negative image in the mirror where there clearly isn't any) as well as social anxiety/phobia. She has a hard time leaving the house due to concern that the outside world will judge her by her looks and reject her; which is causing secondary social anxiety.

When she is in a public place, she can't help but feel like everyone is looking at her and that she will embarrass herself somehow.

Are there any recommended NLP techniques for helping to overcome these two problems? I've tried to get her to do some picture switching but it doesn't seem to be helping much.. she also has some signs of OCD.

    Thanks to all

    Rahul,

Take a look at this movie clip from Paul Mckenna TV show, he helps a lady with BDD and used numerous techniques.

Generally you try to define the define a hierarchy (how scary certain situations are) and gradually move up the hierarchy. Firstly define the catastrophising thoughts. (helping them realize how ridiculous they are) Then help them with gradual exposure.

btw: Does she have actual panic attacks? Because that greatly effects how you approach the social phobia problem.
