| NLP to coaching practice - advice? I was interested to read the "NLP vs coaching" thread and the members' views on "a certain academy". I'm making a leap here and assuming that this is the same outfit who offer a weekend course for £100+VAT. When I read the offer I was initially keen to sign up for the weekend as a taster, but if it's just a glorified sales pitch for a £3000 course with "frighteners" to try and put you off unless you go ahead then I'm less certain it's a good idea.
I also noticed (again, assuming that we're talking about the same thing) that they "big up" their weekend trainng and say you'll get a "Certificate in Personal Coaching", though when you read closer it appears that what you actually get is a "certificate of attendance" for the course instead. Ho hum.
My question is this: what are my best options for filling in the gaps between a "pure" NLP training course like the one I've just done and learning the practicalities of how to start a coaching business? Are there good books on such things, seminars or similar or would anyone be prepared to have a chat and offer some advice?
I'd like something that deals with any legals, gives some pointers on approaching clients, charging structures, insurance, pitfalls to avoid and so on, but without having to pay a shedload of money to repeat things I already learned in my Practitioner course and which I'm likely to get from a subsequent Master Prac course later in the year. There are probably a load of other things I haven't even thought of: hence my question!
Thanks folks… |
