    Hi Al

I wondered, if someone would comment on the ambiguity of my Al's atrophic bodyparts post.

Small things amuse small minds seems to be an appropriate witticism in the framework of the recent posts.

Though seriously, one of the qualities that I admire about Michael is his ability to find leverage and balance through humour that amazingly supports his advice and feed back.

One of the lesson, I have recently learnt from Michael is that you can be sincere while at the same time not taking yourself to seriously.

Micheal, Under the circumstances your composure has been miraculous, I personally would be hopping mad.

    Have a great day

Oh, and of course Jamie Smart and Paul Belcher are both members of NLP Connections, so you can also message them directly right here.

    Cheers,

    James

    Hi Frederic,

    Thanks for the kind words.

You know, I think there are times when I enjoy being mad or contexts where being mad can be useful.

And this wasn't one of those times or contexts and I am a very selfish person, so I decided to go with what made me feel good and helped me get my outcomes instead!

Besides, I don't like anyone else enough to give them the ability to decide what my state ought to be with a few words. However, I do take cash, checks and Paypal.

    Be Well,

    Michael Perez

    Hi Artur,

NLP training has given me a whole new perspective on Life Coaching. Truthfully, I had already been practicing it for at least 20 years, without realising it.

Difference is that I now have a set of tools to tangibly apply a combination of a learned psychology and A Course in Miracles, complemented by my commitment to enabling learning cultures and environments.

On observing me counselling a "cold" client, my trainer, Arielle Essex, called me a Spirirual Master. I was just being me with another wonderful "stranger".

I think NLP is about congruently being with ones-self and people in enabling that spiritual depth to be experienced.

NLP is "social engineering" in it's true, honourable sense.

"The discipline and profession of creatively applying technical and social-scientific knowlege, and utilising natural laws and personal resources in order to design and implement social structures, systems and processes to realise the desired (client-identified) objective or outcome, and meet specified criteria, with safety to life”.

That is deeply spiritual, in it's altruistic precision, and in that sense NLP doesn't exsist. It just IS!

Re: Personal Trainer in Self-Development - Help Define

    Artur,

While it's not exactly what you're suggesting, here's something for you to chew over:

I used to offer one on one coaching and mentoring for people who had been trained in NLP. In this role, my task was to help them refine and extend the way in which they incorporated their NLP skills into the context in which they operated professionally.

So clients who were experts in selling and negotiating and who had been applying their NLP skills in that context would become experts in NLP for sales and negotiation. And clients who were experts in facilitation and training and who had been applying their NLP skills in that context would become experts in NLP for training and facilitation. And so on, and so on.

There was certainly a market for this, because the investment in that process of refining and extending one's skills as they apply to a specific professional context pays dividends in a number of ways, both directly and indirectly. For many people it's a no brainer. The more you sharpen that competitive edge, etc, etc.

Just something to throw into the mix ...

    Cheers,

    James

    Hi Abdul,

I'm not suggesting that your snooping should necessarily end in one of these places (although it might), but it might be worth your while starting with one of these guys:

ABL World (Paul Belcher and Judy Apps)

    Salad (Jamie Smart)

    Pegasus NLP (Reg Connolly)

Check out their websites, call them up for a chat, find out who else they recommend, etc. Use them as a starting point for your snooping. You may find that one of them ticks all the boxes, as it were - or you might find that all paths lead to some other trainer. And best of luck!

    Cheers,

    James
An interesting point of order this time - Paul Belcher has renamed himself John Field. So, Abdhul, theyt are one and te same man, tho some of the website literature might not yet be updated to reflect his name change.

And for the record, James humbly, too humbly in my opinion, has left himself of this list.
I don't know where you are geographically, and if *I* was anywhere in Australasia without a doubt, I'd be training with James T. and I'd seriously consider training with him even if it meant I was "forced to" take a vacation in the land of boomerang sized prawns, and Tooheys ale.

If you're somewhere else then his list is most useful.

Sam, the main difference would be a focus on the client using the knowledge he has (or is getting during the training he goes to) instead of working on solving some specyfic problem or generate some specyfic result.

For example, your average NLP practicioner, in my experience, will use most of the things he learned during the course maybe once in a month - if some problem gets too big for them to just go and bear it, THEN they'll remember they can re-anchor it, swish it, etc. In the meantime, all these wonderfully useful tools will just remain there, wasted. They'll have a hell of a lot of poor beliefs to change - but they just won't be bothered to look for them and change them, etc.
    Hi Artur,

Thanks for answering my question, and it sounds like you're passionate about this. I personally think if you want to do this you'll have to clearly define, or offer a USP of exactly what you can offer them that's different from a coach or a course (even if i'ts just the price, 1 on 1) etc.

Also if you want to help practitioners apply knowlegde to themselves I'd generate some specific techniques to take people through.

For instance whenever I train anyone, if they say they want to be a therapist I make sure I take them through pre designed belief change exercises to ensure they can handle homosexual people, child abusers, domestic violence etc with apositive state.

I also like to dleiberately design certain strategis in people such as V>K observation strategies, generalised unconscious perceptual positions and as Bandler says, I don't think you should teach anyone anything without changing their associations ot learning (use a metaphor while firing off pres= setup pleasure anchors).

I also teach people overty and covertly about 4 different strategies I personally think the world is missing. Such as makign decisions. When Bandler talks about the drug addict who goes back to rehab after not anticipating the consequnces, and playing it through to the end as amovie. His eliciting a state then teaching your unconcsious mind another choice.

I'd be hoping a competent trainer would get rid of all their limitng beliefs that stops them from practising, but obviously they're not going to get rid of every belief they have.

Also is it possibel you could teach them a strategy to make them independant, take 3rd position then ask 'what can I improve'? 'what techqniue would be most appropriate to do this?'
