NLP fanatics are irritating; they seem to be always trying to flog some sort of course or product (are there really any secret techniques left?), then they’ll bore me whilst they think they're "creating a rapport". Otherwise they'll be all 'gosh, aren't I clever, trying to set sneaky anchors'. How dreary...
Of course, that’s not to say that all Hypnosis / NLP / etc. is a bad thing; The problem is that not enough people are prepared to question and test the ideas contained therein. So, the good stuff tends to get lost in a pile of New age mumbo jumbo, and schoolboy errors.
Speaking personally, I find that if one broadens ones field of interests, keeps up to date with scientific research, and most importantly – applies critical thinking to ideas espoused by NLP experts, then the sum of the parts becomes greater than the whole.
