Hi

Until someone adds to this, you might like to check out Persuation Engineering, by Richard Bandler and john LaValle, this link has both the book and the DVD.

Enjoy
Frederic

Hi Navwin,

I really like your topic title, I totally agree with your statement and have been trying to pull the idea apart in my head over the last few days.

Why do you think playing a better opponent makes you better?

Is it,

- You get untainted feedback from your interaction?
- You get to see the working mind of a person who has the skills you aspire to learn?
- In the interaction of playing, all other barriers are stripped away and the game is all about the difference between you both.

This topic instantly makes me think of a sporting skill but also that of a chess match or game of Monopoly. But, the more I think about it, the statement can be applied to job interviews and debating or any situation.

Great stuff,

Matt

Hi Matt

Thanks for appreciating the title.

Well i put this title coz i consider life as a game.

U know Life is a game and you play to win.

The sole purpose of a human is to improve his skills , tactics, Strategies, Ideas, Innovate, Anticipate, and Respond.

Why do you think any one would like to learn NLP and other strategies?????

It is to play the game of life better isn't it. For him to equip himself to meet the life head on or get ahead of it.

Just wonder which aspect of your life this title wont be worth applying.

:cool::cool::cool::cool:

Cheers

I hope you'll eventually have lots and lots of metaphors for life, and that they all work for you at least as well as this one does.

For me, though, a metaphor for life that includes winning and losing, acting necessarily at the expense of others (which is what winning and losing implies to me, not necessarily to anyone else) and where the other participants are "opponents" doesn't work too well anymore. I also at various times tried seeing life as a war, a test, a contest, a random draw, and a product of fate or karma, or the will of God (got over that one fairly quickly, actually), and now I'm flirting with the heady idea of just being. It's kind of cool when viewed from here, but certainly not for everyone at every time.

Oh, and a hearty welcome to the zoo... erm, forum!

That's what HE asked me! And I said "I don't know. Maybe." And then he hypnotized me. But he was going to do that anyway.
