Hey everyone, my name is Rachel and I have only very recently become interested in NLP. Infact, you could say, this is one of my baby steps.
It all started lastnight looking through video clips from YouTube of Derren Brown. I'e heard about him before ofcourse, seen a couple of his programmes on TV, but as I watched I became more and more interested. And I recognised this feeling - I have just found a new hobby! And I feel this one is a very exciting new beginning for me, one which could quite easily lead to career prospects in an NLP way, we'll see as I learn more about it.
Looking through all the forums, I have caught a glimpse of using NLP in a medical sense and everything I have read so far, it has been stated clearly that when using it in a practical sense, to use it respectivley. Well Im glad to hear that! You seem I dont know quite yet what many of the other terms are which Derren Brown uses, apart from a brief understanding of anchoring.
Anchoring and subliminal messages, all these sorts of things are ideas related to psychological manipulation. And as a budding woman, who is, by nature, naive, I feel exploring this world and learning about it..and even better, using it in a practical, respectful sense, looks to solve many of the confusing dilemmas going round in my mind for the past wee while...it could possibly be viewed as my 'realisation moment.'
Ok, well thank you for taking this time to read my introduction, I shall look forward to gettin to know the NLP Connections peeps, and learning about this wonderful technique.
