Introduction

Hi,

I'm pretty new to NLP and really hoping to meet people to discuss ideas with as I work through the mountain of books I have ordered.

Im 25 years old with 2 children and currently living in Luton, England. I have an unusual, and possibly unpopular, occupation of full time poker player. People who don't know much about poker may view it primarily as a game of chance (I know I used to) but this is not the case and actually being successful involves using mathematics/psychology and many other disciplines.

One of the most important aspects I feel is managing your emotional state, and this is giving me great difficulty. I can't resist other distractions which prevent me from focusing totally on the game, I will play when tired/drunk/upset even though I know I am going to perform way below my maximum ability at these times and also I have a tendency to hit the self destruct button from time to time when things are going well, in an apparent subconscious urge to make things difficult for myself.

I am therefore hoping that using NLP I will become a master in my chosen career which will give financial security for life and create a butterfly effect into the rest of my life as my health, family life and everything else falls perfectly into place. Maybe then I will even be able to help others.

Thanks for Reading
Dave
