Discussion:
Hello -
Hello Hello Everyone.
My name is Mick and I'm relatively new to NLP.
I became an NLP Practitioner in February this year and I learned a lot of very interesting things that have shown me how useful NLP can be.
I would like to know what other people did once they became NLP Practitioners; how did you further your knowledge and experience?
I enjoyed the course so much that I'm looking to use it whenever possible and carry on learning.
So, do you have any advice as to what I should consider?
Thankyou.

Re: Hello Welcome Mick,
In answer to your question, and simply my opinion, it depends on how deeply you intend to get into the field of NLP. If you are planning on making it a career choice, plan on being a life long learner. I think it's important to remain a student (even if you ultimately plan on teaching). My best advice, however you like to learn - books, cds, courses - make it part of your daily habit.
Either way, keep in mind: once you think you know something, all learning stops. So keep an open mind and you'll travel far.
Wishing you a 'peace' in the puzzle,

Thankyou for the advice, Lucia.
There are a couple of NLP practice groups relatively close to me that I think may be worth attending. I'm sure you'd probably agree that the best way to learn is to practice yours skills on other people.
You did mention other courses, which is definitely something I would like to do and is one of the best ways to learn, it is just the time and the cost issues that would hold me back.
I would like to get deeply into NLP, so that it becomes the case that I am consciously aware of my unconscious competence. I would, therefore, be so good at using NLP, I apply the right techniques in any given situation and never have to consciously tell myself to use NLP, because I always do automatically.
So far, I've done an NLP Practitioner course, but I'd like to build on this. I know the obvious next step would be Master Practioner, but are there any other courses you would recommend? Time Line Therapy or Clinical Hypnosis perhaps?
Would it be better to master the skills I've learned on the Practitioner course first before moving onto Master Practitioner? At the moment, I feel I should pay more attention to what I've ready learned about NLP rather than have more techniques I have to pay attention to.
Thankyou.
