Have you heard of Dr Ron Perry and his wife Dr Edie Perry and thier work Patterns of Physical Transformation. I am sure a good PPT treatment could help you learn how to stop this habit. Go and have a look at their website Patterns of Physical Transformation they are based in Florida if thats too far for you to visit - simply email them and ask for their suggestions.
Best wishes
Joy

A little edgy? I don't think you would have taken the time to seek out assistance to stop bruxing if you truly felt a brux is just a brux. Obviously it was a signal to you that there is something, who knows what, that you need to sort out. | | | | Message posted: 4th Oct 08, 03:59 pm

Phil is spun out...

Phil,
Have you tried spinning it the other way?
Here are some comments that RB made on a coaching site. Comment by Dr. Richard Bandler on 2 September 2008:
Brooks relaxation. Turning the symptom into the solution. Grinding teeth is an unconsious process so it is best dealt with by using hypnotic skills. Inducing a trance deep enough to get the client to relieve teeth grinding in slow motion, detecting which way the deriving compusion fuctions.(e.g. small circles around jaw) You can then reverse the sensation making it cause jaw relaxation. Thus the problem becomes its own solution. Comment by Dr. Richard Bandler on 3 September 2008:
Habits are strong neurological states to change. You must build stronger desires and decisions as we disassemble the old neurolgical habit.
Hi Phil.. its me again..... on the last one, what would you like to do more of instead ?- if you choose to Phil the space left behind with your own wonderful desires... do as the man says!
Oh and if read his comments in the sound of his voice.. it becomes even more compelling

Thank you for the excellent post.
I don't particularly like RB's voice (SHOCK!), so I chose someone else's...and you can just wonder about that... Phil

Back to it last night...I fell asleep doing AT, so I didn't listen to my bruxism MP3...guess it made a difference.
I really would like to let this go. I'm starting to think that Jay's idea of a baseball bat might be all that's left to try.

I have read somewhere that if you go to bed with a piece of chewing gum in your mouth you may find yourself awakening to the sensation of chewing gum which in turn will tell your unconcious mind not to bother chewing the gum as nobody wants to be woken up like this! Maybe you could give this a go if you haven't already?
Be happy not sad, everything else is going so well for you that I'm sure it won't be long before you will choose to leave this habit behind you now!
It's like when you dream, phil of stepping out of a river because you realise that the current has become to strong and you wish to find tranquility and peace on the river bank and maybe even stop to do a spot of fishing!

Ah, I have orthodontics, so chewing gum is out of the question. Otherwise I would give it a go!
Thank you for the lovely post.

It's autumn now and the first leaves are starting to fall, you can feel and begin to see the chill in the air and things certainly have a calm and tranquil relaxed air about them so just enjoy this feeling of relaxation.
Nature is a wonderful thing!

October is my favorite month for so many reasons...one being that the colors in Ohio are most beautiful in mid-October, and the other being that my birthday falls on the 23rd! It is like nature gives me a lovely birthday present every year...

As long as I don't have to sacrifice the beautiful colors of the hocking hills to lose my bruxism, I'm perfectly OK with that!

The only thing you would have to lose is that soreness you feel in your jaw in the morning. | | | | Message posted: 6th Oct 08, 04:58 pm

Nature certainly does give you a lovely birthday present every year and you know what little extra gift you can allow yourself this year even though you didn't know you knew it until now, without any sacrifices only extra things to enjoy and as you let your mind drift and wonder about, just like the autumn leaves that take a leisurely stroll in the breeze, think of really relaxing and holding on to all the things you really treasure!

It's been suggested to me at this point to STOP TRYING TO FIX IT.
Any opinions on that?
Good night!

last night was a good night, that' right just accept yourself as you are and you will be, how you want to be and you know how that is because we all learnt how to walk and talk and there will be many more good nights and it won't be long before you can count more good nights then not and it will be easier and easier to relax every part of your body as you sleep just like the leaf in the autumn breeze floating!
