Ridding of Limiting Belief/Event -
Ridding of Limiting Belief/Event I foolishly sent an internet message to a well-known bass trombonist:
"I greatly admire and respect your artistry. Thank you."
I have heard that by doing such a horrible thing that I have limited myself to never being as good or near the league of that person. Can you good folks help me with this? This is a rather large deal to me. I assume that he received it and that the event took place, but I'd like it to not affect anything that I'm doing in music. -
I've touched a naked Buddha's belly and chanted "Bongalo-bongalo-booo" whilst praying to reverse the spell you are under....
.....
....which is about as logical and sensible and likely to have any effect as the premise you're presenting...
If you get what I mean?
Anyway, that should have sorted it either way...

How is paying someone a compliment going to limit you? How is it horrible? Where did you get those ideas from?
Maybe you could consider the difference between "comparing yourself to someone" and "being inspired by someone"? -
Re: Ridding of Limiting Belief/Event Hi Timothy,
What has led you to believe that telling someone that you greatly admire and respect their artistry would mean anything other than that you greatly admire and respect their artistry?
Did someone tell you this, or are you a part of a spiritual system or religion that holds this as a belief or...?
If I knew who and where specifically you got this idea, someone here might be able to be more helpful.
Be Well,
Michael Perez -
Hi Timothy . I agree with the others, telling someone that you greatly admire and respect their artistry means that you greatly admire and respect their artistry. It's a compliment to them nothing else. Having said that you can use this to your advantage.. Maybe you could use the respect and admiration for their artistry as a point of reference to emulate and thus become as good yourself. I wonder what would happen if you decided to add your own personal artistry to the mix...blend your artistry with theirs... I imagine, that with time and practice you will soon see yourself as good , maybe even better... I remember when I first started out learning NLP. In my eyes my trainer was like a master magician, the things he accomplished, the ease he weaved his magic and his eloquence, all inspired me to emulate his artistry. During one particular exercise, I decided to replicate what he did. I was amazed at the difference this made to my own skills. So, here is how it goes. Think of the person (role model) doing what they do best ... run a movie in your mind of them in action...paying attention to how they move, the specific way they do things.....run the movie to the end....now, you have a stronger reference point , don’t you? This time blur out their face...change the pixels, black it out their facial features, whatever works best for you.....Replay the movie,, again pay attention to how they move, the specific way they do things, the micro muscular movements.... take your time, and allow the movie to run to the end... you now have an even better reference, when you are ready,, move to the next phase. Superimpose or replace the blurred out features with your own face and features ....replay the movie with your face superimposed...this time...watch how you move, the specific way you do things, your micro muscular movements.... pay attention to how well you are playing...feel how it feels, you now have an even great reference, to move into the picture. Take up the same position that you saw in the movie, as if you are stepping into a skin suit....remember this time your the one doing the actions.... you are a part of the movie... feel your body doing those specific movements....hear and feel what it is like to replicate those actions... all those little micro muscular movements ... all those little things that make all the difference....take your time, relax and enjoy the experience .... know that you are benefiting from your new found skills and awareness. The great thing is that, each time you repeat the last step ....you can refine it .... you can make it more real ...more accurate.... remember each time you do this , your skills and artistry also become more refined. Now, I wonder, how long it will be before you discover yourself doing those actions or how much your own skills will improve without you even becoming aware of it, until one day it just dawns on you. After all, you are the one ordained to be in control of your destiny. Enjoy and have a great day Frederic

Re: Ridding of Limiting Belief/Event Tim,
I'm with Frederic. You need to "step into him!"
I am a professional singer, and I am now going to work on stepping into the model of Luciano Pavarotti. I have enough collective memory of him from his long career to do it, too.
Nobody could sing those high notes like Luciano!!!
Play well, my friend! Be excellent!

What would happen if a Great Artist paid a complement to a rising star they came across. Would they immediately revert to being average again?
I think there is a lot of information about how you came by these views missing in your post you may want to highlight.
Alternative forget about it because I can personally voice for Nigel's hexes and spells. I upset him a while ago and my PC crashed about a week later.

Hi Timothy,
All I can say is that what you have seen in him - his artistry- is a reflection of what you already have inside of YOU!!! All you gotta do now is look for that which is already there in your own artistry - That's why you felt compelled to send the message - you were wisely sending a message to your own inner qualities. A VERY BEAUTIFUL THING TO DO
Play on Meastro - shine shine shine!!!!!!!
Best wishes

If I have sent an internet message (both virtual and in the sense of NLP) and the person receives it, is there any way that this can be deleted? I have never met the person, but I am sure that this person has received my message.
It's almost like I've "given away" my artistic power.

Re: Ridding of Limiting Belief/Event Timothy,
OK, here's the point where I pull out my "Mr. Adams" suit and put it on (my teacher suit--can scare small animals and children when necessary).
Why do you want to give away your artistic power? Nobody has made you do this. Even your own words betray you. Read back to yourself:
"It's almost like I've 'given away' my artistic power."
Well guess what? "almost like" equals "haven't."
Be well, and be excellent, Timothy. And play the hell outa that horn, buddy!
Cheers,
Phil
p.s. Guess what? I just used my super-power tenor high C on your problem, and have shrunk it down to about the size of a grain of sand. Now, knock that tiny crumb off your mind, and GO PRACTICE!!! -
What about his artistry? What if ours have become intertwined? -

Thanks for pointing this out to me. OMG, what have I done!!!!
I sent my ex wife a message telling her how great the kids were on the weekend and much fun we had fishing together, OH NO I've "given away" my kids away. NO.... WHAT HAVE I DONE!!!!!
Timothy, please help me, how can I get them back???? Actually, do I want those particular kids back or can I get some new ones, or better ones, mmmmmm really nice kids with super NLP powers.
Darn it, just remembered they will be over on the weekend, they didn't it go anywhere.
Think about it, like my kids your artistry is still there.
Have a great day

It's ALL intertwined. You're just now figuring this out??? Or maybe...
And stop your snivvelling this minute, or I'll send Nigel after you with his super duper hypnotic transmogrifying apparatus! (insert maniacal laugh)

But because I've negated this doesn't this mean that he'll be affected? -
Timothy
You are either pulling our plonkers or you need the kinf of help that I don't belive is available on the Internet.
John http://www.businessadviser.com/humber.htm -
Re: Ridding of Limiting Belief/Event No, he will not be affected. It's the same you having breakfast or practicing your music at home or having fun with your friends. Do those things affect him? I think not.
It might just be time to put this behind you. When you think about something, in some way you give it energy. If when you remember and think about the email it makes you feel bad... then the flip side means ...that if you remember to forget the email... pretty soon you'll forget to remember... move forward... negate it ... then you'll feel good about leaving it behind you, it's nice to feel good , isnt it?
Enjoy and have a great day.

Re: Ridding of Limiting Belief/Event I think it's plonker-pulling! That's why I'm sending Nigel after him--the best one to deal with plonker-pullers, IMO...
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA............ -
OH MY WORD! How do I undo all of this? I'm not joking! -
Ah Nigel and his chainsaw will sort out the intertwined strands and negate the need for futher interventions.
Timothy, if you are serious then , think about something else , now, something you enjoy, forget to remember the email, someone will come along in the near future and add their magic to the weave, perhaps Nigel perhaps someone else. In the mean time re read the advice you have been given, think about it . Wait and see, just think about what you can do to help yourself move forward as you wait and see.
