I have volunteered to be filmed , whilst undergoing , an epigastric hernia operation , without anaesthetic , (except Hypno analgaesia)to be shown on Channel 4 , coming soon.

I believe , in the power of Hypnosis , I believe in the power of the mind !

What else can I do , but prove my point ?

I have dealt with pain , in many of my clients , when all the painkillers they were being given , did not work !

Fingers crossed , I will be selected....though they do say...they are looking for a less difficult...and quicker operation to perform....to fit the TV slot....but they can always edit !

    Fingers crossed ! lol !

wow - I am sure you will know what it was like long before it hits the television screens. Good luck - both with being selected and having that experience.

I looked over at the channel 4 web site and the text there on the programme says that, The programme will include discussion and debate as well as live and archive examples of the efficacy of hypnosis in a surgical context, culminating in a live hernia operation being performed under hypnosis with no anaesthetic at all. So maybe you've been chosen Pete.

Have you heard of Dr. Angel Escudero? He is the founder of NOESIOLOGY & NOESITHERAPY... He induces what he calls Psychoanesthesia and performs operations without anesthesia. If you are interested Pete his site is at: http://wdr.escudero.com/escudero/ntheng.htm

    Peter,

Not knowing what you might be planning, I might recommend the Elman induction as being particularly well suited to pain control and inducing complete numbness in parts of the body, in my own experience.

And if you're chosen, good luck!

    Be Well,

    Michael Perez

Thanks Michael , apparently, they want the ''chosen one'' haha , to go to London , a few times before the op, to prepare, the meditation/hypnoanalgaesia side.

I have no fear, of the pain, I know I will be able to control it , with or without their help....looking forward to it , if chosen.....!

Was this a result of Nicky's post at quickfind:69420?

If so, it's great to know the site is working and people are hearing about things and doing things they wouldn't otherwise be doing!!

    Good luck, Peter!

I am just watching the operation - impressive stuff. But can anybody tell me why the surgeon and operating theatre staff do not get affected by the hypnotist sitting there telling the patient to 'go deeper and deeper and deeper still'?

The operating and theatre staff , do not get affected , by the hypnotist sitting there , and telling the patient , to go ''deeper and deeper still'' for a couple of reasons......

1.They will have been ''primed'' not to respond to the hypnotist...perhaps one or two , might have worn ear defenders ? ...and they would also have been forewarned as to what was going to be said !

2.Because , the hypnosis is directed at the patient , and the patient has been ''primed'' (pre-hypnotised) , as if in a ''stage show'' , to respond exactly according to the instructions ! He might even be under a hypnotic trance as he enters the Theatre ....

And you know the point , where , on the Stage...the Stage Hypnotist , asks a volunteer from the audience , have they been Hypnotised tonight....the volunteer always says no....then the Hypnotist , touches or taps their head , with his hand or the microphone....and they immediately , drop their head and go under hypnosis...as he says to them in a masterful voice ''sleep''!

Post Hypnotic Suggestion at it's best and most powerful ?!!

I believe , personally I could have done the operation , without another Hypnotist/Hypnotherapist being involved....though I would have cooperated fully , with the ''Resident Hypnotist'' but perhaps, now I will never know ?

I know that I am good with other people's pain....and I know that I am good with my own pain (dentists etc)....and I'm sure , that if I had a doubt... it would have found me out ! But I have no doubts in the power of Hypnosis , or the power of the mind !

But if I do get a pain personally , as I did over the weekend, in my urino-genital system (bladder , urethra , ureters , and kidneys), I will leave that pain alone....until the Doctors find out what it is or what it isn't ....then and only then , get rid of it, because it is there for a purpose....and the purpose is to let us know that there is a problem !

(Only remove pain , if it is safe to do so....to those of you who have heard me say that before...I apologise...but with a satisfied smile on my face ....as I have said it again....

and perhaps the message will one day get through....never remove pain....unless you are sure , that it does not have underlying causes...which could and can be fatal !

In 10 years of practise, I have only failed to remove or reduce pain , once....and that was for a man , with a pain , in his head , just this Sunday....despite me putting my best 100% pain relief methods forward , the pain would not reduce....I was staggered....when on further questioning , that the old man , still believed , that he had a problem , in his head....a tumour , cancer...haemorrhage etc...even though he had been cleared by all the authoritities , he wasn't sure what it was ....but his subconcious mind , would not allow that pain to go !

The miracle of the subconcious mind Defensive System !

I told him to go back to his Doctors, and get it checked again . He agreed to do so...and will hopefully report back to me !

He wasn't frightened of dying , or finding out what the problem , might be ....as he had had a good , and long life !

And he had lied to me, or had he ? when he said that the Doctors and Hospitals , had all said , that there was no reason for that pain !
