NLPoints

NLP Connections thrives because people log in regularly, reply to questions, post articles, offer advice and share ideas. NLPoints are a way of recognising and rewarding those contributions.

You get NLPoints automatically when:
  • You log in to the site (one award per day)
  • You post a message on the forum
  • Another member values one of your posts and gives you a bonus point
  • You contribute an article to the resources section
  • You refer a new member to the site
  • You host or attend an NLP Connections event
You'll soon be able to use your points to 'buy' books, CDs and DVDs related to NLP. At the moment, they just give you pretty stars on your profile. Watch this space for announcements.

HOW TO REFER A NEW MEMBER TO THE SITE

When you tell someone about the site, you can give them a special link that identifies you as the referrer. You'll get 25 NLPoints for everyone you refer who joins.

DO I HAVE SOME POINTS ALREADY?

Calculations have been backdated to when the site was launched (2005) so you may already have lots of NLPoints. Click here to see your balance.

Re: NLPoints

Hello Chris

I am wondering if there could be a passable chance to have a point donation bank where we can donate our points to a charity when a level points have been reached- instead of getting a book or CD- or DVD etc. our points can build up and help a good course- this is for people like me- who would rather give than take-

Just a thought-

Jay

Re: NLPoints

It would be fantastic if someone contributed them to me, toward the cost of the Eric Robbie week course in Oct.

There seem to be some regular posters here, but it would be good to see a lot more postings. I think the owners are doing all they can to encourage activity and the points idea is a good one.

However I have noticed over here and elsewhere a lot of NLP people don't have much money.

Maybe somebody could sponsor you?

I think points means prizes, books CDs etc is a great idea. I for one would welcome suggestions as to how to calculate points for discounting places on my courses. There could be an interesting quality versus quantity issue though!

Whaddayathink!

How many points = what in terms of products/events?

I can't see any info on this, can someone direct me?

Would be nice to donate to Peter for his Eric event

Re: NLPoints

There will soon be an option to use your points to "buy" books, CDs, DVDs and things like that. You might also be able to "buy" courses in the future too.

This isn't going to happen before Eric's course though - that starts in less than a week.

There will be more news about the points soon.

Re: NLPoints

Thanks Paul

I too haven't seen an actual points to prizes breakdown. I think working with NLP techniques takes a long time. Therefore for me a donation or sponsor would be fantastic, after a hard days slog on a construction site to come home and do as much work as possible becomes a bit overwhelming sometimes.

A course like Eric's could move me into a more lucrative area and at the same time I would have received excellent tuition and would be able to do a lot of good for people. Until then I'm stuck down a hole until I save enough money to get to where I want to be.

I have used lots of different techniques to increase wealth and do see light at the end of the tunnel, but with my plan to go to China next year for 6 months to train over there. Then it's gonna be in some years unless something drastic happens, which btw, I do believe can happen. Amazing things do happen to me, amazing things do happen to me, amazing... you get the picture.

Re: NLPoints

As a newcomer to the site I find the number of points a helpful guide to the activity of contributors - even though it may suggest that some people spend more time on line and less actually applying the techniques. But a useful guide none the less.

Re: NLPoints

Hi Kate, I think that's a fab idea!! I for one would love to attend more trainings (I've often looked at your education based ones) and also fall into the skint nlper category, more from not working in nlp but working as a learning mentor in school... valuable to the kids and not so to the local authority paymaster general... ah well hehe.

Re: NLPoints

It's going to be very exciting. People will be able to come here to ask questions and get free advice, and doing that will earn them points to get free or discounted trainings.

I think it's going to open doors for lots of people.

Just thought I'd add that I think it's a fine idea too! And I'm not posting that just to get more points. (No, really, bon idée!)

Do you lose points if you ask too many questions?

Too many, compared to what?
Too many, according to whom?

I didn't lose any points for that, so I think you'll be fine...

Re: NLPoints

This seems like a great idea, Chris.

During my idle moments I came across the idea that the system could be open to abuse.
