I am new here and this is my first post. Thanks to Derren Brown interest I stumbled on this website. My post is basically a question. Is Obama using NLP in his speeches? When I saw him speak on TV the first thing that got my attention was the unusual way he speaks. Having read about NLP within the context of what Derren Brown does got me thinking that OB could be doing the same thing. Just curious :-)

This subject of NLP in Obama's speeches has been discussed in the main "Talk about NLP" collection of threads.

However, "Obama speeches" is a broader area, and there may be some value in exploring what other (outside NLP) views are on Obama's speeches in general.

The Derren Brown view may also be useful as he actually says in his book "tricks of the mind" that he doesn't do NLP. He said he did a few of the techniques and some interesting things happened, and he related it to pseudoscience in the book, but he is mostly a non-NLP person.

I like the way you call Barack Obama OB. Its probably a bit nicer than his actual initials "B.O."
