And if you went down the typical training path available to most NLP changeworkers, you've only had limited experiences watching someone do what you want to do there live in front of you.

And you probably saw them work with delegates, fellow students and NLPers who had been sitting in the same training as you were, 'cooking' in trances for a few days after having spent hundreds or thousands of quid to be there and who knew how they were supposed to react. Definitely not the kind of client that's likely to ring you up or come through your door very often, if ever.

And when you did get a chance to practice, it was usually with fellow students and/or only in a few specialized circumstances.

And your clients in the real world are not those people.

So, to check of that third box, if you're someone that wants more in a real-client live demonstration for you to model, if you're someone who wants to get specific, high-quality, one-to-one feedback from you doing an actual interaction with a real live non-NLPer client...

I'm going to hold a small weekend workshop for no more than 8 attendees. I'll talk to all applicants personally before accepting any application.

Then, you I and a handful of others will get together for a weekend of two intensive, full day-long sessions and...

* Each Morning, I'll teach you some of the most important distinctions I've made over my decades of experience as a changeworker, distinctions you can use to make all of your work more elegant and more powerful.
* At Midday, I'll demonstrate what I do for you by working in front of you with a live client in a real changework session. I'll then review what I did, explain why I did what I did and answer all of your questions about my work.
* In the Late Afternoon-Early Evening, you'll get supervised practice with a live client followed by feedback, where I'll bring in some real people for (approximately) 45 minute coaching sessions with you as the practitioner, where I'll watch your work and give you clear, high-quality feedback so that you can become even better and better!

I was thinking back to the days when Milton Erickson would welcome changeworkers from around the world into intimate workshops where he would share what he had learned. And I thought to myself...

'If only I could have been in a magical situation like that! How much faster would I have learned the things I did? How many mistakes could I have avoided? How much better would my life be today?'

And it occurred to me that after everything that I've gone through to learn what I've learned, since I can't go back in time and give this magic to me then, why wouldn't I reach out and give you the opportunity for that kind of magic, the magic to transform what you do, right now?

One well known NLP trainer said of me ‘Michael knows everything about NLP that’s worth knowing’. I disagree, I know some bits that aren’t worth knowing as well...

I’ve been a coach, changeworker and trainer for abut as long as I’ve been doing NLP. And I’ve got a reputation as being a troubleshooter. People who can’t be hypnotized? Send them to me. People who have seen a dozen therapists and NLPers with no results? Send them to me. I’m known as someone who gets results when others can’t.

If this course turns out to be anything like spending 5 minutes around you Michael then these people are in for a real treat.

I'm already excited about hearing some amazing stories of what happens at this event.

Working with live clients is one of those things that almost always seems to be missing from a course like this yet some could say that it's THE most important aspect of learning how this stuff really works, in the real world.

This might not be the right event for you yet. And it's less about qualifications and more about what you can know and, even more importantly, can do, so that the people who come in will receive skilled interventions and so that everyone in the workshop can start from a mutual set of understandings.

REALLY close attention, because unless you already know, you could easily miss lots of what he's doing... unless he's prepared to explain afterwards what he did.

If he explains what he does, as he's about to do, before he does it, then this is indeed an opportunity not to be missed.

Michael in action is skilled, eloquent, very effective, and extremely subtle.

Just being there while he works with clients will, by itself be an experience that could transform your work.

Having him teach the distinctions he uses to choose his approach, and then being there while he constructs an intervention in real time will probably leave you able to do things you couldn't previously imagine.

If he's going to not only explain that intervention afterwards, but also give you feedback on your work with real clients, I defy you to improve anything less than beyond your expectations... He really is that good at getting to the good stuff.

I've experienced some of that before, not all of it though so if I could be there I'd have had that place you're thinking about before you could get to the phone!

I have to be somewhere else that weekend, so you have a chance, and if you make good decisions, you'll take it!

I want to take this opportunity both to let you know of a last minute change and to warn you about something else, something else that I think is even more important, a serious flaw I've uncovered because of my original message about this workshop!

Well, when I originally advertised this event, I really wanted to make it clear that this workshop was designed for people like you, who might have taken some NLP training and would like to get real experience helping people in coaching or in therapeutic situations.

This workshop was designed for you if you want to see someone use NLP in doing real change work with real everyday people and not just a self-selected group who attend NLP seminars, sit in trance for several days and have both social pressure as well as an internal expectation of how they're supposed to react to the NLP applications they're experiencing.

So this workshop was created for people who are intensely curious about and how people work and how they can live more wonderful lives so effortlessly and so easily and how you can get an experience of that in a protected and safe environment.

It was created for you to get the chance to get in real practice wit real people as well, in a safe and protected environment so that you can gain real confidence and skill based on real-world experiences.

And, trust me, there's a difference between feeling confident because you spin the feeling up and having the unshakable confidence you build by doing.

So a my original announcement this went out, I got some calls and messages from people expressing how much they wanted to attend something just like this but that they needed to get more practice first, before they could do anything like this and certainly before they could ever work with clients.

It was then that I realized that there was a fundamental problem, that serious flaw I mentioned earlier, evident in some of the reactions my initial announcement was generating. And the response it generated revealed that some people were in an inescapable loop and, unless they got out of it, they'd never be able to do changework or coaching... Have you spotted it yet, I wonder?

If, in order to practice, you need to practice first, you'll never be able to practice because you'll always need to practice first!

So, yes, because I'll be giving you specific, high-quality feedback on doing gentle and straightforward coaching with live subjects, it is important that you have an NLP Practitioner training (or equivalent) under your belt before doing a workshop like this to make sure you learn the most possible and provide the results of that due diligence for both you and your client.

And, at the same time, you don't have to be an expert at this, nor do you ever have to have worked with a client before. Expertise is what comes *after* work like this, not before...

This is about a safe and protected environment for you do that in, and to learn at an greatly accelerated rate and to explore new ways of being excellent at this, with myself there there to guide you, provide you with valuable feedback, and help you step by step through the process.

And you won't be alone or out of place, no matter what your experience level was when you walk through the door.

There will be people there who working with clients for the first time.

There will be people who have been working with clients for years now.

Thanks Michael for an interesting and challenging weekend. It was great to meet some people again and some for the first time. To have immediate feedback on a client session was fantastic and really made me think about how I do what I do and how much of it is out of conscious awareness, both useful and not so useful. At least my ego wasn’t deflated as there was much more useful stuff going on.
For those of you not there the premise was that we would have clients who wanted some life coaching. This quickly moved into change work, which was both challenging and rewarding. I haven’t yet completely processed all the learning from the two days but am confident that I only recognise a part of what I will realise in the coming weeks. As well as getting new stuff (which is the best description you will get today) Michael has allowed me to find new ways to look at old learning and make it useful in different contexts. Today I have instilled a propulsion system in three different people for different desired outcomes and they and I have had WOW!! moments at the elegance and power of the process.
