| Chi/Ki/Prana and the Like. Hello All
I am getting curious about 'energy' work at the moment (who knows how the tides of curiosity work?).
Let me say to begin with that I have been practicing Taijiquan (Tai Chi Chuan) and Qigong (Chi Kung) for over 10 years, and have done much 'energy work' in a Martial Arts context. But I haven't ever really thought of 'chi' as being 'real' as such - just a tangible kinaesthetic metaphor that helped me to work my body better.
Now I am all for breaking out of reality tunnels (so long as it is doing so from a pragmatic base), so I am looking to maybe expand my metaphor.
Whan I do standing Chi Gong/Nei Gong, I get a real sense of 'energy' in my hands afterwards - I can place my hands opposite each other and they strongly repel. I have always dismissed this as basically a hypnotic phenomenon (which it plausibly could be - perhaps most plausibly). I know this is a common phenomenon, so what I would be interested in here is any references to 'scientific' research into this.
Any and all help, perspectives, opinion welcome.
All the very best
