Sally,

I love that Josh Groban song. I've listened to that a lot in the past.

Thanks for sharing the Ofra Haza as well. Beautiful.

Hopefully some others will be encouraged now to contribute to the mix!

Cheers,

Phil

one more

Instrumental but very emotional and inspiring playing

as a musician Phil you may be interested that he plays a 7 string 40 fret guitar giving him a full 6 octave range. For a quick look at how good he really is -

From same album 'The Prayer Cycle' that Ofra Haza song was on, well worth hearing full album

this features Alanis Morissette.

Trent Reznor's (Nine Inch Nails) gentler stuff: search You Tube for "Nine Inch Nails Still".

When he made this album he combined everything he learned about electronics and sound engineering with his classical training.

The result is beautiful and very different from his other heavy loud Industrial records.

Give it a go

One day, I was in desperate need of a serious shift, and this is the song that did the trick! I just now remembered it...

Enjoy!

The track I am working on and tweaking right now is probably the most mixed up representative of some of my influences.. contains elements of gypsy jazz, spanish, arabic, gospel, soft stuff, hard stuff, michael caine(!).. the vocals aren't mixed yet (all wrong levels) and some are still guide vocals and will change.. and still some more percussion to come.. but gives you the idea.. I stuck the last rough mix here temporarily..

Thanks Phil but the link is temporary and its probably best not to link to unfinished stuff anyway. I'll put it up elsewhere when its finished. Happy to link to more finished stuff on the myspace page though..

NOT an official video, actually a fan made one. Song was made after Olivia's cancer diagnosis.
