A funny experience with 'circle of excellence'

I had an entertaining, although potentially dangerous expereince with a client last week. I've seen her a few times and she is familiar with NLP and several associated techniques. Towards the end of the session she requested an anchor to allow her to relax when she gets stressed out by her children's behaviour.

She chose a state of relaxation and accessed what she thougth was an appropriate memory. I did this content free and so wasn't aware of what specific memoery she had chosen. During the set up I noticed the physiological response that we were after. We did a quick test fire and she fell over and almost cracked her head on a table in the centre of the room.

A quick check out of the memory she accessed proved useful as she had picked a night out with her friends when she felt particularly relaxed, but had forgotten how inebriated she was! Luckily there was no lasting damage from her fall and she saw the funny side.

We quickly modified the anchor so it would be more useful to her before she went on her way. I never fail to be impressed by the power of well set up anchors!
