chinosis Does anyone have any knowledge of Chinosis?
I have not been able to find much free information, but it seems like a combination of EFT and hypnosis. I may be several light yers off of course.
Thanks

Re: chinosis Yes i have knowledge in Chinosis, i trained to be a Chinosis coach 2 years ago.....
It is a body tapping treatment similar to EFT ( though i am not EFT trained, i have a basic understanding). With Chinosis, hypnosis is not used. I trained with Jonathan Chase & Jane Bregazzi who are the founders of Chinosis...
I dont know what you want to know about it, just reply and i will answer your questions.

Re: chinosis Thank you,
Is chinosis only health related, How long has it been about? how big is the msarket compared to hypnosis / NLP, How effective is it?
And how does it differ from EFT
Thanks

Re: chinosis Chinosis is devoloped by Jonathan Chase and Jane Bergazzi. I trained in Oct 2005 and it was very new on the ground then, so it must be less then 5 years old now..
The market i think is really small, i have never had a client come to me and ask for it to be honest, though i have used it.
Yes i do believe its effective, its very similar to any other body tapping method, though i dont want to compare it too much against EFT ot TFT as i have not done any courses on either, but i am going from what little knowledge i know on them... Chinosis uses only a few points and is easy to remember them, no complexity to find different areas for different things.
You start at the one point and work back around to it, as you tap the person thinks of the thing they want to change.
To be honest unless i knew more on the EFT or the TFT its hard for me to judge and i dont want to judge them without that knowledge...
Personally i think if your going to offer a service doing one, i would train down the EFT / TFT route due to the fact more people are aware of them, so you have a bigger selling point with them.
I hope one day to explore the TFT/ EFT route, but right now i have bigger fish to fry with other things i want to learn. :-) -
Re: chinosis Thank you, that heps alot. -

Re: chinosis Thank you, the reason i asked was that i have correspondence with the hypnotist Jeff Stevens, ho often compliments chinosis, i Alsop love things like this and EFT which cheat science, i think that thy are fascinating.
So chinosis uses meridians as well?
again thank you foir your answrs, chinosis.com does not want t give away info for free -
Yes Chinosis does work on the meridians as well
I may get slapped for my next comment, and its by no means aimed at the gentleman that you spoke to.
People will normally rate the subjects they have learned as they paid to learn them and they can attract customers by saying they have that skill in their tool belt.
You dont hear often someone saying i did that course / seminar and it was total crap.... But i do wonder how many people walk away from such thinking it. -
Re: chinosis Ah, no actually he makes his living with hypnosis, but It was just indirectly throigh him that I leanred of the exisitence of this topic.
Thats a sharp comment (note the ambiguity!) and is probably why most college educated people make such a big thing about it,

Re: chinosis I use Chinosis with the vast majority of my clients because I teach it to them as a self help technique. I originally trained in EFT and found that really effective but after learning Chinosis I now use that in preference because I think it is easier for people to get the hang of quicker to use on their own. They don't have to worry about analysing how they feel or putting it into words and because it's all done internally they don't feel initially so silly muttering to themselves. (Of course those initial silly feelings may actually have an impact on the mental change process...)
I do still use EFT when someone has used it before or I feel that it's important they put into words how they feel or if it helps them to follow their thought processes out loud through the EFT phrases. Most of the time though I use Chinosis because in my opinion it's quicker to pick up. It also works very well with people who are nervous of hypnosis and they often put themselves into a self hypnotic state.
The online video focuses on how to use Chinosis in a positive way but initially with my clients I use it to help them with negative feelings and thoughts as when they come to me that is usually what they need to deal with first. I have had experiences with both EFT and Chinosis where someone has used them trying to be positive and has found that it didn't work. As soon as we changed the emphasis into a negative framing things started shifting.

Re: chinosis Thank you, Whicj would you say is more effective? -

Re: chinosis
Whicj would you say is more effective?
There's a question!! I think effectiveness with a lot of techniques depends on the client's and the practitioner's own preference and comfort zone. I worked very effectively with EFT before I used Chinosis and raved about it the same way I do with Chinosis. The reason I tend to use Chinosis more is because I find that people are more likely to use it because it takes less effort. Remember, I'm using it with people so that they can go away and use it on their own so the easier and more comfortable it is for them the better.
For most of my sessions I use hypnosis because, for me, that's usually the way I find my clients make effective change. But often Chinosis is an ongoing back up system for them. That doesn't mean that's all it's restricted to, it's just the way I use it. I've also used it myself for increasing positivity and energy levels with great results.
I was involved with making the video that's mentioned above. She really was terrified of spiders and told me that when she saw me bring the spider in (it was all sealed away in a box so she couldn't actually see it but knew what was in there) she felt physically sick and almost left before we started.
Sometimes things shift quickly and sometimes it takes longer - again, depending on how quickly the person is prepared to let them go and also how many other issues are linked in. I used it a couple of weeks ago with someone who had a fear of lifts. She couldn't remember the last time she went in a lift. In the evening the only way to get out of my office building is to use a lift so we had 20 minutes to get rid of the fear, otherwise we had to cancel the rest of the session. She did it and was amazed.
I also use it a lot with people who have sleep problems as it's quite gentle and you don't have to particularly think of anything.
You can find out more about it in 2 of the Yahoo Groups that Jon and Jane run at chinosis_forum : CHiNOSIS and Art_of_hypnosis : Art of Hypnosis

Re: chinosis It's only after hours you have to use the lift as you have to use a different entrance. She was puffing a bit when she got to my office on the 6th floor though :-) | |
