My wife commented , that wherever we seemed to go......somebody knew me.

When I thought about it .....it was true . No matter where I go somebody seems to know me !

Well , last year , I was in Rome ( Vatican City ) on Holiday ......with the wife and we went to see the Pope in St. Peter's Square , conducting a Papal Service.

My wife said to me......why don't you try out that theory ....about everybody knowing you !

I said "How? "

She said , " Climb up onto the balcony.....up there .(she pointed to where the Pope was conducting his service from.....) and say hello to the Pope...see if the Pope knows you !"

Always game for a laugh , I climbed up onto the balcony........quite a tricky climb , I can tell you !

I shook hands with all the security guards , who obviously knew me , and were pleased to see me again.....( it can normally take months or even years , to get an audience with the Pope.....but here I was .....just to prove a point ......putting myself , to the front of all those vast paperwork queues ....just to prove a point , to my missus ! ) :cool:

The Pope , immediately , made his way over to me , as soon as he spotted me , arms outstretched , welcoming me , like a long lost son !

" Peter , Peter , how are you my friend ? You look well ! What are you doing with yourself , what have you been up to ?"

I explained , that now I perform minor miracles , as a Hypnotherapist , back home in Birkenhead and might be able to help him to get canonised , as a Saint (when his time comes ) ......by giving him a few tips , on how to perform miracles.......like Stopping People Smoking......Helping them to Lose Weight etc....as apparently , if the Pope performs three miracles , while he is the Pope...he will automatically , become canonised , as a Saint , upon his death !

How's that for promotion ?! Anyway I digress ......

The Pope thanked me for my kind offer ....gave me a Papal Blessing ( and a cheque....which he happily put his Cheque Card number on the back of for me ) ......well Who Can You Trust nowadays ? ......and said he'd pop(e) over to Birkenhead , in the New Year ,2007 to get a few tips , on performing miracles and to learn a bit of Hypnotherapy , and go forth and perform his own three Miracles ....the cheeky buggar, even asked me if he could have a "Papal Discount" ! Haha ! Which of course I refused !

Anyway , after about 10 minutes......I said to him...."Look nice to see you again Popey , but I'd better get back to the wife..I've left her on her own , in that crowd !" Pointing to the 100, 000 people , below the balcony , who had now gone strangely quiet as we got lost in conversation !

When I got back to my wife , she was amazed , that the Pope did in fact know me.....and acted as if we had been the best of friends for years....which obviously we had ....and she swears ..... that when I was up there , on the balcony , being so warmly greeted by the Pope and his Security Guards .......the lady in front of her , in that vast crowd , of over 100, 000 people ...... turned round to her , and asked .........


"Who's that up there , with Peter Walsh !".........


Hahaha ! She swears it's True ! Honestly ! LOL !

Hmmm I went to Rome once too and the Pope died... actually it was a huge lesson for the kids that I took with me when they saw how it was being reported on the news. The news was showing huge crowds thronging St Peters Square and the kids were amazed as we had just been there and it was nothing like they were reporting on the TV! I don't even think the weather was the same as it showed on TV lol. Funny that I took my kids on of the most religious cities in the world and they came back with less faith in things than they went with.
