Anchoring question

I am sure many perhaps most of you are familiar with anchoring. My question is with regard to the 'classic' anchoring process rather than stacked or collapsed or sliding anchors i.e teach someone to elicit a resourceful state and anchor it so they can use it when needed.

My question is a simple one. If they repeatedly use that anchor when in a 'negative' state where they need their resourceful state does it become weaker or worse asociated with the negative state? If not why not?

Why doesn't the anchoring process that has been established become associated with the negative state?

If it does become weakened or re-associated then what is the best way to ensure it does not. My approach is to ensure they are hypnotised when they set the anchorand the third time they set the anchor and give them a post hypnotic suggestion to stabalise and strengthen the anhcor each time it is used. Is that overkill? What is your strategy?

Best regards,
